A technology company is seeking a Data Engineer to manage data infrastructure, monitor pipelines, and build event-driven systems for AI products. The role involves both operational responsibilities and the architectural design of new systems. Candidates should have over 4 years of data engineering experience, proficiency in SQL and Python, and experience with cloud data warehouses like Redshift or Snowflake. The position offers flexibility to work remotely or from various office locations in South America.
We're looking for a Data Engineer who can handle both the operational side of data infrastructure keeping pipelines healthy, debugging issues, tuning performance and the architectural side of building event-driven systems for AI-powered products. You'll work across different client projects, from supporting existing data stacks to designing new pipelines for real-time behavioral analytics and machine learning workloads.
On some projects, you'll be the person keeping the engine running: monitoring ingestion pipelines, triaging alerts, tuning warehouse performance, and making sure scheduled jobs don't break. On others, you'll be designing and building new data infrastructure from scratch event-driven architectures, real-time signal processing, and data models that power AI agents and ML pipelines. You'll need to be comfortable switching between these modes depending on what the project needs.
You're someone who can operate independently once you understand the context. You know how to read logs, trace data issues, and fix things without panicking. You communicate clearly both with technical teammates and with clients who may not speak data fluently. You're equally comfortable stabilizing a legacy system and designing something new. You ask good questions before diving in.
