Mural is hiring a Platform Engineer to optimize the software development lifecycle across the org. You will design and maintain build infrastructure for a large TS/NodeJS codebase, collaborate on CI/CD processes, and automate bottlenecks to accelerate deployment while ensuring reliability and scalability.

You will work with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform and Azure, building reusable components and providing strong guidance to engineers.

Formación

• 5+ years of experience in backend, integrations or CI/CD pipelines within a high-performing engineering team.
• Experience building reusable components and libraries with scalable architecture.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills with a proactive ownership mindset.
• Strong knowledge of Linux, Docker, and CI tools like GitHub Actions or similar.
• Experience designing, implementing and documenting API services.
• Familiarity with NodeJS, TypeScript ecosystems and automation tooling.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Python, Golang, Terraform and Azure Cloud is a plus.
• Experience managing stateful Kubernetes workloads and improving production reliability.
• Ability to design and build AI-powered platform capabilities to boost developer productivity.

ABOUT THE TEAM

The Platform Engineering team builds the tools and services that accelerate the software development life cycle of the software engineers at Mural.

We work on tools that provide a reliable development environment, on tools to easily test locally and remotely, on integrations with Github and Github Actions, and a few other pieces throughout the many stages in our build, test and release pipelines. Our work is essential to Mural's success, as we maintain the backbone of the platform, enabling seamless user experiences and fostering innovation across the company.

YOUR MISSION

As a Platform Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving the performance and efficiency of the software development life cycle across the organization. You will be responsible for understanding, maintaining, and evolving existing systems while designing and implementing advanced automation tools and optimized workflows. By enabling developers to build, test, and deploy software rapidly and reliably, your work will directly enhance development cycle performance, boosting productivity and quality across the entire development team. This makes your role essential to Mural's ongoing success.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Design, implement and maintain the build infrastructure for a large Typescript and NodeJS codebase
• Collaborate with software developers and platform engineers to define and refine the Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery processes and its best practices.
• Identify and address bottlenecks, performance issues, and opportunities for automation within the development pipeline in order to speed up the whole development experience.
• Develop and maintain scalable platform features, ensuring the reliability, availability, and scalability of our software delivery processes.
• Care deeply about the problems and needs of our customers, which are all the engineers in the organization, and on training and supporting them to better use the tools we build to improve their quality of life

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• 5+ years of experience working on the backend, integrations or CI/CD pipelines of a high-performing engineering team
• Experience building reusable components and libraries, with an understanding of scalable architecture.
• Excellent communication skills, with a focus on documenting solutions and providing clear technical guidance
• A strong sense of ownership over critical problem areas
• A thorough understanding of Linux, Docker and CI tools like Github Actions or similar
• Experience in designing, implementing and documenting API services
• Understanding of the NodeJS and Typescript ecosystems, and its automated build and testing tools is a plus
• Kubernetes, Python, Golang, Terraform and Azure Cloud knowledge is another plus
• Experience managing stateful Kubernetes workloads, including operating, scaling, troubleshooting, and improving the reliability of production-grade services
• Comfortable designing and programming custom operators to automate platform workflows, extend infrastructure capabilities, and improve reliability across development and delivery systems
• Experience designing and building AI-powered platform capabilities that improve developer productivity, automate engineering workflows, or enhance CI/CD, observability, testing, and release processes
• A proactive, ownership-driven approach to troubleshooting and supporting critical technical areas
• Experience in making data-driven decisions
