Kraken is seeking a React Native engineer to join a cross-functional Consumer pod, building and scaling core Krak experiences for a global user base. You’ll collaborate with Product, Frontend and Backend Engineers to deliver seamless, performant mobile features.

Design, implement, test, and iterate on screens with TypeScript, React Native, and real-time updates. You’ll own features end-to-end, participate in reviews, and contribute to architecture while keeping UX and reliability at a high

Formación

• 3+ years shipping large-scale consumer mobile apps with React Native.
• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills; API usage, mobile performance, testing, and modern build pipelines.
• Product-minded; collaborate with product/design to deliver customer value.
• Experience with real-time tech and responsive UI experiences.
• Excellent English communication, both written and spoken.

We're looking for a React Native engineer to join a cross-functional Consumer pod focused on building and scaling core Krak experiences. You'll build alongside Product, Frontend and Backend Engineers in your pod, delivering seamless, performant user experiences across our Krak app, holding the features you ship to a high bar for UX, technical quality, and reliability. It's an opportunity to build high-impact, consumer-facing functionality used daily by a global user base.

The opportunity

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality mobile applications using React Native and TypeScript, with a strong product focus and outcome-oriented mindset
• Own the end-to-end delivery of assigned Krak features, from technical design through release and post-launch iteration, working closely with product strategy and customer needs
• Build screens and components that are maintainable, performant, and resilient, applying established architecture and design patterns
• Write clean, well-tested code and take an active part in code review, applying the team's engineering standards consistently
• Contribute to technical design discussions within your pod, raising clear proposals and trade-offs for the work you own
• Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, and the Rust backend engineers in your pod to deliver features with measurable customer value
• Help improve code quality, shared components, and tooling across the Krak mobile codebase, keeping current with the React Native ecosystem

What You Bring

• 3+ years of software development experience with a proven track record shipping large-scale, product-facing consumer mobile apps using React Native
• Solid working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript; hands-on experience with APIs, mobile performance, frontend testing, and modern build pipelines
• Strong product engineering mindset. Comfort working closely and iteratively with product and design teams to ship customer value
• Comfort working with real-time systems (WebSockets, live updates) and building responsive, interactive experiences
• Strong understanding of UI/UX best practices, empathy for the customer, and a passion for building intuitive, performant consumer experiences
• Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to emerging technologies and development practices
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

Nice to haves

• Familiarity with native mobile app development (iOS/Android) or micro interactions and animations in React Native
• Experience in consumer payments, crypto, or fintech mobile applications
• Full-stack engineering experience or demonstrated capability to flex into backend systems work. This is a significant value add for engineers on the team, especially paired with working knowledge of Rust, Go, or C++
• AI fluency. Familiarity with how AI tools and patterns have fundamentally shifted your development workflow and problem-solving approach
• Experience with Next.js, WebSockets, async architectures, APIs, and microservices
• Experience within a large technology organization or fast-growing startup
• Contributions to open-source or the broader engineering community
