Algaecal Inc. is seeking a Senior Video Editor to shape video content for North American university campaigns. This fully remote role focuses on ads, brand storytelling, and digital campaigns, collaborating with designers, copywriters, and strategists to deliver high-quality work.

You will edit for YouTube, social media, and paid media, optimize for platform specs, and stay ahead of trends in video editing to maximize engagement and ROI for education-focused clients.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional video editing experience in an agency, media, or marketing setting.
• Strong storytelling, pacing, and visual impact for ads and campaigns.
• Fluent English communication with U.S.-based teams.
• Experience editing for YouTube, social media, and paid media campaigns.
• Familiarity with color grading, sound design, and platform-specific formats.

• Integrate motion graphics and simple animations (text overlays, transitions, logo animations) to improve engagement.

• Optimize videos for different platforms , ensuring correct aspect ratios, pacing, subtitles, and thumbnails based on distribution channels.

• Collaborate with creative teams —designers, copywriters, and strategists—to align visuals with marketing goals.

• Manage video files and organize assets , ensuring structured workflows and version control.

• Review edits and refine content based on internal and client feedback before final delivery.

• Stay updated on new editing techniques and platform trends to continuously improve video effectiveness.

• Ensure timely delivery of final assets , accounting for internal and client review steps.

Is This You?

• 3+ years of experience in professional video editing, preferable in an agency, media production, or marketing team setting.

• Advanced skills in Adobe Premiere Pro , plus working knowledge of After Effects, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.

• Experience editing content for ads, marketing, or corporate communications.

• Strong storytelling ability , with a clear understanding of pacing, audience engagement, and visual impact.

• Familiarity with motion graphics (text animations, lower thirds, transitions).

• Technical knowledge of color grading, sound design, and video formatting for social media, web, and broadcast.

• Highly organized —able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

• Fluent English communication skills , with ability to work with U.S.-based teams.

• Experience optimizing video content for multiple platforms (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, TV).

Nice to Have:

• Experience working with education, technology, corporate, or mission-driven brands.

• Understanding of social media engagement strategies for video.

• Comfort presenting work and discussing revisions with clients.
