Cowboy Space Corp. is seeking an experienced radiation effects engineer to lead analysis and resilience for orbital compute systems. The role is onsite in San Carlos, CA or Kent, WA and requires collaboration across electronics, packaging, and test facilities.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in radiation effects analysis, testing, and space reliability with substantial knowledge of TID, SEE, and displacement damage. The salary is competitive with equity and comprehensive benefits.

Formación

  • 5+ years in radiation effects analysis, testing, or space reliability.
  • Deep understanding of radiation interactions with electronics and semiconductors.
  • Knowledge of TID, SEE, and displacement damage; test campaigns with external facilities.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead radiation effects analysis and resilience strategy for orbital compute systems.
  • Analyze radiation effects on GPUs, CPUs, FPGAs, networking ASICs, memory, and power electronics.
  • Develop mitigation techniques for SEU, SET, SEL, TID, and displacement damage.
  • Define architectural resilience including ECC, redundancy, fault detection and recovery.
  • Plan and execute radiation test campaigns with external labs.
  • Coordinate with test facilities to define conditions and data collection.
  • Analyze test results and derive reliability metrics and mission projections.
  • Develop radiation hardness assurance methodologies for compute platforms and PCBs.
  • Collaborate with mechanical/packaging to address shielding and mitigation.
  • Investigate anomalies and drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Contribute to component selection and deployment readiness reviews.
