Warner Bros. Discovery is seeking a senior software engineer in Buenos Aires to design, develop, and maintain scalable applications for the organization and clients.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, maintainable software and provide technical leadership to junior developers. The role emphasizes AWS, Python, Docker/Kubernetes, and messaging platforms, with an Agile Scrum environment and a focus on building event-driven architectures.

Formación

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Proficient in Python.
• Fluent in English at an intermediate/advanced level.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
• Experience implementing scalable, distributed, highly available systems on AWS (ECS, EKS, EC2, Lambda, SQS, SNS).
• Experience with Messaging Frameworks (RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, SNS, SQS, Kafka).
• DevOps experience (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bamboo, Travis).
• Experience building event-driven architectures.
• Experience working in Agile Scrum.

Your New Role

This role will design, develop, and maintain high-quality software applications that meet the needs of the organization and its clients within a team environment. This role will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to design and implement software solutions that are scalable, reliable, and maintainable. They will be responsible for providing technical leadership and guidance to junior developers, ensuring that development best practices are followed, and that code is developed to the highest standards.

Your Role Accountabilities

• Design and develop software applications that meets the needs of the organization and clients
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to design and implement software solutions that are scalable, reliable, and maintainable
• Identify opportunities to improve the processes and technologies of the work team
• Actively participate in interdisciplinary meetings to analyze and estimate projects
• Look for new opportunities that allow to provide innovative software solutions to the business

Qualifications & Experience

Required

• 5+ years of experience
• Proficient in Python
• Fluent in English at an intermediate/advanced level
• Expertise in complex problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills
• Experience and deep understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS
• Expertise in implementing scalable, distributed and highly available systems on AWS using ECS, EKS, EC2 and Serverless technology (Lambda, ECS, SQS, SNS)
• Expertise in Messaging Frameworks (RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, SNS, SQS, Kafka)
• Experience in DevOps (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bamboo, Travis for CI/CD)
• Experience building event driven architecture
• Experience working and delivering in an Agile Scrum environment
• Broad knowledge and experience in proficient understanding of relational and document databases specifically MONGODB, PostgreSQL
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Energetic, shows passion and is vested in the project

Preferred

• General knowledge of or previous work experience and / or participation in projects related to the media industry
• Foundational understanding of Artificial Intelligence concepts, including Machine Learning, Generative AI, Large Language Models, prompt engineering, and practical AI-assisted software development workflows
• Experience evaluating and responsibly adopting AI tools to improve developer productivity, code quality, documentation, testing, troubleshooting, and automation while applying security, privacy, and compliance considerations
• Ability to identify business and engineering use cases where AI can add value, assess feasibility and risks, and collaborate with stakeholders to prototype or integrate AI-enabled solutions
• Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Systems, Engineering or related careers
