AgileEngine is seeking a Software QA Engineer with 3+ years in QA and automated testing to join a people-first, award-winning team. You will craft regression tests, write Gherkin-based scenarios, and collaborate across product and customer teams to uphold holistic quality. The role offers flextime with both remote and office options.

Ideal candidates have experience in Jest/Playwright, GitHub Actions, SQL, and a mindset geared toward quality engineering and proactive risk management.

Responsibilities

• Build regression automation scripts to support app functionality.
• Manually validate software according to defined criteria.
• Run smoke, regression, integration, and performance tests.
• Document feature behavior in detail.
• Record test results and link failures to bugs.
• Identify risks to product quality and processes.
• Collaborate with product teams to ensure quality throughout SDLC.
• Coordinate with customer teams to integrate user feedback into testing.
• Help estimate effort during planning refinements.
• Use GitHub to maintain automation repos and scripts.
• Participate in On-Call rotation.

ABOUT THE ROLE

MUST HAVES

• 3+ years of experience in a software quality assurance role.
• 3+ years of experience in automated testing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Possess a mindset focused on holistic quality.
• Experience writing and working with Gherkin for behavior-driven development.
• Experience with prompt engineering and harness engineering.
• Experience building Agentic skills focused on Quality Engineering.

NICE TO HAVES

• Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Jest, Playwright, Postman, JMeter or any other object-oriented based automated testing framework.
• Experience with testing support functionalities such as GitHub Actions, LambdaTest, SendGrid, Datadog, PagerDuty.
• Proficiency in SQL.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails and backend development.
• Understanding of quality management systems and quality control processes.
• Background in data-based testing and/or security-based testing.
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other relevant experience.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Build regression automation scripts that support app functionality.
• Manually test software for validation and accuracy based on defined set of criteria.
• Execute smoke, regression, integration, performance and other testing types to ensure proper behavior of software.
• Record detailed documentation of feature behavior.
• Record pass/fails conditions of tests and correlate failures to bug identification.
• Identify and elevate any risk to quality of the product or the process.
• Collaborate with the product team to ensure quality throughout the SDLC and product release cycles.
• Collaborate with customer-facing teams to incorporate user feedback in the testing strategy.
• Participate in refinement and estimations of effort to promote accurate planning.
• Utilize GitHub to maintain automation repositories, run custom scripts, and facilitate automated quality practices.
• Participate in On-Call rotation.
