Job summary

Convoy Finance is seeking a Senior Accountant who will own accounting work across a portfolio of growing companies and work directly with international clients, founders, CFOs and senior finance professionals. You’ll ensure accurate financial reporting while understanding the business behind the numbers and being proactive about issues.

You’ll interact with clients and team members across borders, manage month-end processes, and contribute to advisory work as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
• 4+ years of relevant accounting experience.
• English fluency with clients and senior finance people; 100% in English.

Responsibilities

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Senior Accountant who wants to be close to the action.

You’ll own accounting work across a portfolio of growing companies and work directly with international clients, founders, CFOs and senior finance professionals .

You’ll be responsible for getting the accounting right, but that’s only part of it. We want you to understand the business behind the numbers, notice when something doesn’t add up and be confident enough to ask questions.

The clients we work with move quickly, and so do we. There will be deadlines, new problems to solve and plenty of opportunities to learn. You’ll have the support of an experienced team, but you’ll also be trusted to take ownership rather than wait for instructions.

As you grow into the role, you’ll have the opportunity to take on more complex accounting, finance and advisory work.

What You’ll Do

You’ll take ownership of:

• Full-cycle accounting and bookkeeping , including reconciliations, journal entries, AP/AR and month-end close

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

You have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field and 4+ years of relevant accounting experience .

You’re comfortable owning full-cycle accounting, month-end close and financial reporting, and managing multiple clients and deadlines at the same time.

You’re confident communicating in English with clients and senior finance people . You can explain what the numbers mean, not just what the numbers are. This role would be a 100% in English.

And you’re someone who likes to figure things out . If something looks wrong, you investigate it. If you don’t know the answer, you find it. If there’s a better way to do something, you speak up.

Experience with QuickBooks Online, Xero, Taxprep or CaseWare is a plus, as is experience in public accounting, audit, tax, SaaS, technology, fintech or Web3.

CPA designation or active CPA pursuit is also a plus.

Big Four experience is a must for this role.

Compensation

In this role, you will join the Operational Accounting team supporting a high-growth business unit in a global payments technology company. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial information, analyzing business processes to drive automation, and ensuring compliance with corporate requirements and internal controls.

What you can expect from this role (Responsibilities)

Perform balance sheet and P&L reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely resolution of differences.

Conduct account analysis, explaining variances and trends with a driver-based, data-backed approach.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages for the group.

Execute and document SOX controls and other internal controls, maintaining clear audit trails.

Analyze business processes and propose improvement opportunities, focusing on standardization and automation.

Manage accounts payable, fixed assets, bank reconciliations, and expenses/budget tracking.

Support external and internal audits by preparing workpapers and supporting documentation.

Post accounting journal entries supported by complete analysis and consistent application of policies.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.3+ years of experience in Accounting teams, ideally in multinational or high-growth environments.

Solid knowledge of accounting postings/imputations, debits/credits, and key close processes.

Advanced/Fluent English (written and spoken) for daily international collaboration.

General understanding of IFRS and core financial statements.

Ability to work in a fast-changing environment and deliver on tight month-end timelines.

Nice to have

Experience using ERPs such as SAP (Fiori), Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.

Experience with process automation or data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Looker, Alteryx, RPA).

Exposure to emerging markets, payments, fintech, or high-transaction-volume businesses.

Experience with group-level/corporate reporting packages and consolidations.
