Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking an Automation QA Engineer to lead automated and manual testing for desktop and mobile applications. You will build regression tests, integrate with CI/CD, and ensure test coverage across core features.

You will collaborate with product and development teams to improve testability and acceptance criteria, while driving quality throughout the SDLC and release cycles. Remote-friendly, hybrid options available.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in QA automation and hands-on manual testing.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions).
• Hands-on with Playwright for desktop/web and WebdriverIO + Appium for mobile.
• Experience testing Electron and React Native apps, including iOS/Android devices.
• Experience using AI tools in QA and evaluating their outputs.

Responsibilities

• Build regression automation scripts to support core app functionality.
• Execute smoke, regression, integration, and performance testing.
• Record detailed test results and bug reports; verify fixes.
• Collaborate with product and engineering to ensure testability and acceptance criteria.
• Maintain and enhance automated regression suites across desktop and mobile apps.

ABOUT THE ROLE

MUST HAVES

• 3+ years of experience in a software quality assurance role.
• 3+ years of experience in automated testing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Understanding of quality management systems and quality control processes.
• Background in data-based testing and/or security-based testing.
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other relevant experience.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Build regression automation scripts that support app functionality.
• Manually test software for validation and accuracy based on defined set of criteria.
• Execute smoke, regression, integration, performance and other testing types to ensure proper behavior of software.
• Record detailed documentation of feature behavior.
• Record pass/fails conditions of tests and correlate failures to bug identification.
• Identify and elevate any risk to quality of the product or the process.
• Collaborate with the product team to ensure quality throughout the SDLC and product release cycles.
• Collaborate with customer-facing teams to incorporate user feedback in the testing strategy.
• Participate in refinement and estimations of effort to promote accurate planning.
• Utilize GitHub to maintain automation repositories, run custom scripts, and facilitate automated quality practices.
• Participate in On-Call rotation.

About the job

We’re looking for an Automation QA Engineer with strong automation skills who also takes ownership of manual testing for our desktop and mobile applications.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain desktop and mobile test automation for critical user flows.
• Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines and keep them fast and reliable.
• Investigate failures, fix flaky tests, and manage test data and environments
• Report clear, reproducible bugs and verify fixes
• Work with developers and product on testability and acceptance criteria
• Perform hands‑on functional, exploratory, and regression testing of new features
• Choose manual or automated coverage based on risk; maintain regression suites.

Mandatory

• 4+ years in QA automation, plus hands‑on manual and exploratory testing experience.
• Experience running tests in CI/CD pipelines (for example, GitHub Actions).
• Hands‑on experience with Playwright for desktop or web, and WebdriverIO + Appium for mobile.
• Experience testing Electron and/or React Native apps, including on real iOS and Android devices.
• Experience using AI tools in QA and critically reviewing their output. Testing AI-powered applications is a plus.
