Job summary

Freelance Latin America is seeking a Senior PHP / WordPress Backend & Automation Developer to support a growing, U.S.-based membership platform. This role blends backend development, custom plugin work, API integrations, and no-code/low-code automation.

You will own technical projects, work remotely with international teams, and leverage AI tools to accelerate development while maintaining high code quality.

Qualifications

• Senior-level PHP development with WordPress backend and custom plugins.
• Experience with Invision Community (IPS) integrations and backend logic.
• Strong MySQL/MariaDB data management and query optimization.
• Proven API integration experience across multiple platforms.
• Familiarity with no-code/low-code automation (Zapier, Make, ActiveCampaign).
• Strong English skills (B2), written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance WordPress backend functionality via custom plugins.
• Build and customize IPS applications, including backend logic and DB features.
• Design and maintain API integrations with 30+ third-party tools.
• Create and optimize batch scripts for data processing and maintenance.
• Create automated workflows using no-code/low-code platforms.
• Troubleshoot backend issues and optimize platform performance.
• Collaborate with Head of Development and remote teams; manage tasks independently.
• Ensure security, stability, and uptime; monitor proactively.
