Job summary

EPAM Systems Inc. seeks a Senior nAI Engineer to own the end-to-end lifecycle of GenAI-powered applications. You will design, build, and deploy backend services, integrate LLM APIs in production, and optimize latency, reliability, and costs within Azure and distributed systems such as Redis and Kafka.

You will work with AI/DS, Product, DevOps, and platform teams to scale AI capabilities, support CI/CD, and advance the client’s AI SDLC with cutting-edge approaches and robust observability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years delivering GenAI/LLM apps in production.
• Strong Python backend experience.
• Experience with OpenAI or similar LLM APIs.
• Proficient in prompt engineering.
• Familiar with CI/CD and Azure.
• Excellent English communication.

Responsibilities

• Craft, build, launch, and support backend services that drive AI/LLM-powered applications.
• Assume complete responsibility for GenAI feature delivery from development to production support.
• Link and administer LLM APIs, such as OpenAI, inside enterprise production settings.
• Build out APIs, orchestration layers, and microservices for agentic AI workflows.
• Improve LLM latency, resiliency, retries, fallback logic, and cost management.
• Configure CI/CD, observability, monitoring, and logging for AI services.
• Collaborate with AI/DS, Product, DevOps, and platform groups to ease delivery and reliability.

This role puts you in charge of the entire development, deployment, and operational journey of enterprise-grade AI-powered applications. It draws together backend engineering, LLM integration, cloud infrastructure, and AI platform operations to bring scalable GenAI solutions into live production settings. You will team up with AI/DS, Product, and DevOps groups to construct and expand AI-driven applications, safeguarding reliability, observability, performance optimization, and operational excellence throughout the entire AI SDLC.
