N-iX is hiring a senior full-stack engineer to own BI integrations and semantic model converters, including Excel plugin, Google Sheets add-on, and Looker integration. You will translate query semantics across MDX, DAX, SQL, manage OAuth flows, and ensure correctness across tools with different data models.

You will build converters translating external formats into SML, and tackle cross-protocol translation and real customer escalations with a tight feedback loop to product, QA, and support

Formación

• 4+ years of professional experience with TypeScript/JavaScript in a full-stack context (React on the frontend and Node.js on the backend).
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience building and shipping production software, ideally client integrations, plugins, or SDKs.
• Expertise in unit and integration testing using Jest, alongside proven approaches for mocking requests and responses in automated test suites.
• Working knowledge of SQL and exposure to analytical query languages and semantics (MDX, DAX) and an intuition for how the same question maps differently across tools.
• Deep proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python.
• Comfort with authentication and session mechanics: OAuth, tokens, and the failure modes that show up when they're mishandled.
• A debugging temperament: you can take a vague customer report and a live model and drive it to a root cause.
• Fluency with modern AI-assisted development tools, and good judgment about where they speed you up versus where they need a human in the loop.
• Expertise in testing methods such as unit, integration, and e2e, tools used for each (e.g. Jest), as well as approaches for mocking requests and responses for test automation.

• Build and maintain converters that translate external semantic model formats into SML.
• Handle the hard cross-protocol problems: query translation between MDX/DAX/SQL.
• Reproduce, triage, and fix customer-reported bugs against real semantic models, and turn recurring issues into durable fixes and better tests rather than one-off patches.
• Build and expand automated test coverage (integration and end-to-end) so adapter regressions are caught before customers see them.
• Track the moving targets (Microsoft Office add-in APIs, Google Workspace add-on platform, Looker/LookML changes) and adapt our integrations ahead of breaking changes.
• Collaborate with product and support to prioritize the friction that matters most, and communicate clearly with customers when an issue is technical and externally visible.

We're hiring a full-stack engineer to own and advance our BI integrations and semantic model converters. This includes the Excel plugin, the Google Sheets add-on, and the Looker integration. You'll work at the seam between third-party BI ecosystems and the core query engine: translating query semantics across protocols (MDX, DAX, SQL), managing authentication and token flows, keeping result sets correct across tools with very different data models, and driving down the friction and defect rate that customers feel most directly.

The role also covers semantic model interoperability: building converters that translate other formats into SML, the platform's Semantic Modeling Language. It's a different shape of problem from the BI adapters, closer to mapping one semantic modelling language to another, and it's what lets a customer bring an existing model to the platform without rebuilding it.

This is a high-ownership role with a tight feedback loop to real customer escalations. You'll partner closely with product, QA, and customer-facing teams, and your work will show up in support queues and renewal conversations, so correctness and reliability are the job, not a nice-to-have.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Python
• Experience with end-to-end (e2e) testing frameworks, particularly Playwright
• Experience with semantic layers, OLAP, or BI platforms (Power BI, Tableau, Cognos) and their driver/connector ecosystems
• Familiarity with XMLA/Tabular endpoints or similar analytical serving protocols
• Background supporting enterprise B2B customers where correctness and governance are non-negotiable
• Familiarity with containers and infrastructure related to web apps such as Docker
