The candidate will own features end-to-end across backend and frontend, building REST APIs with Java/V JVM frameworks, and delivering production-ready components using React, TypeScript, and Next.js. The position emphasizes rapid delivery, testing, security, performance, and maintainability, with the platform focused on data observability in logistics, manufacturing, and finance

Formación

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Full Stack Engineer with end-to-end ownership across backend and frontend.
• Production experience building REST APIs in Java with JVM frameworks (Quarkus, Spring Boot, etc.).
• Experience with React, TypeScript, and modern React patterns (hooks, Next.js App Router).
• Strong PostgreSQL experience including schema design, migrations, and index design.
• Hands-on Docker and containerized development workflows.
• Focus on production quality, security, performance, and reliability.
• Experience writing/integrating tests against real infrastructure.

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer for a full-time remote position (40 hours per week) in LATAM. Our client offers a global platform tailored to the logistics industry's varied needs. They build an enterprise-grade data observability platform that helps manufacturing and financial services organizations detect schema drifts across heterogeneous IT systems in real time. The platform collects logical metadata from on-premises databases, data lakes, and file-based sources through lightweight agents, automatically detects structural and data-level changes, and provides impact analysis, business glossary, and data governance workflows through a web console. The product is currently moving from the prototyping stage into active customer proof-of-concept deployments, with a focus on rapidly delivering customer-driven capabilities and accelerating time to value.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Full Stack Engineer, with a proven track record of owning software features end-to-end across backend and frontend.
• Strong ability to work independently, make sound technical decisions, and deliver features efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Production experience building REST APIs in Java, using Quarkus, Spring Boot, or an equivalent JVM framework; ability to quickly understand and extend Quarkus-specific patterns such as CDI, RESTEasy Reactive, and Panache.
• Production-grade experience with React and TypeScript, including modern React hooks and Next.js App Router patterns.
• Strong PostgreSQL experience, including schema design, migration strategies (Flyway or Liquibase), query optimization, and index design.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized local development workflows.
• Strong focus on production quality, including security, performance, migration safety, maintainability, and reliability.
• Experience writing and maintaining integration tests against real infrastructure, with good judgment around what should and should not be automated.
• Ability to respond quickly to customer-driven priorities and deliver targeted solutions without compromising the core architecture.

Nice To Have

• Background in data management, data engineering, or data observability, with familiarity with concepts such as schema governance, data lineage, or data quality monitoring.
• Experience with Kafka or compatible systems, such as Redpanda or Confluent, in a production environment.
• Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs or on-premises inference servers, such as Ollama or vLLM, into backend services.
• Familiarity with vector databases or pgvector for semantic search or similarity matching.
• Experience with OIDC/SAML SSO integrations and enterprise identity management platforms such as Okta or Microsoft Entra ID.
• Prior experience working on enterprise software for manufacturing, financial services, or other regulated industries, with an understanding of production-readiness and customer security requirements.
• Familiarity with mTLS certificate management and enterprise PKI concepts.
• Experience with k6 or similar tools for performance and load testing.

How You Will Be Evaluated

• Shipping velocity: How quickly do requirements become working features without accumulating unnecessary technical debt?
• Review quality: Does your code review feedback make the product more reliable and maintainable in ways the author may not have anticipated?
• Test automation judgment: Do the tests you write catch real bugs, and do they remain stable as the codebase evolves?
• Customer environment fit: When a customer has a non-standard deployment constraint, can you identify the minimal change needed to satisfy it without compromising the core architecture?

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the CTO and Product team to translate customer requirements into production-ready features.
• Own features end-to-end across backend and frontend, from API and database changes to the user interface.
• Develop and extend REST APIs and backend services using Java and Quarkus.
• Implement frontend functionality using React, TypeScript, and Next.js, including UI components for new platform capabilities.
• Design and implement database changes and migrations to support new features and customer requirements.
• Develop and maintain unit and integration tests, extending the existing test suite as new functionality is introduced.
• Improve test coverage and automation to identify defects early and reduce the need for manual verification.
• Conduct code reviews with a strong focus on production quality, including security, performance, schema migration safety, test coverage, and maintainability.
• Adapt the platform to customer-specific environments, including connector configuration, authentication and SSO integration, notification routing, and deployment topology.
• Deliver targeted solutions for customer requirements while preserving the integrity of the core platform architecture.
