AgileEngine is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to shape cinema experiences through full-stack development, spanning backend APIs and frontend interfaces. You’ll collaborate across product, design, and operations while owning projects from concept to production release.

You’ll design scalable solutions, apply modern architectures, and work in a remote LATAM setting with English communication requirements. This role offers contract-based USD compensation and flexible arrangements.

• Design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions that enhance cinema operations and elevate guest experiences.

• Take ownership of projects from storyboard to premiere, seeing your work through from concept to production release.
• Continuously refine performance, scalability, and reliability to keep the show running flawlessly.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to build web applications that connect back‑end data to front‑end interfaces and automate business workflows.

MUST HAVES

• Senior‑level (5+ years) of hands‑on software engineering experience; as the first core software engineer on the team, must possess the architectural maturity to design and implement solutions, set foundational coding standards, and guide and upskill peers.
• 5+ years of programming experience in at least one of the following languages: Java or Python.
• 5+ years of experience developing backend APIs in a data‑driven environment.
• 5+ years of experience with datastores such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar long‑term stores.
• 4+ years of experience building production front‑end applications using React and TypeScript.
• Strong knowledge of REST or GraphQL, RPC, and JSON.
• Working knowledge of a cloud‑based environment, with a focus on AWS.
• Experience conducting and leading code reviews.
• Experience impacting a product or project in a tangible, positive manner.
• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or another technical‑related degree.

NICE TO HAVES

• Experience creating solutions for billing.
• Working knowledge of service‑oriented and event‑driven system architectures.
• Experience consuming GraphQL APIs from the frontend (Apollo Client or similar).
• Demonstrated use of Kafka, SQS, RabbitMQ, or other messaging frameworks.
• Familiarity with a component‑based design system.
• Experience writing frontend tests using Jest and React Testing Library.
• Working knowledge of frontend build tooling (Webpack, Vite, or similar).
• Understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG) and accessible UI development.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a passion for debugging complex issues and maturing code.
• Significant experience with large‑scale, high‑performance systems, including an understanding of the tradeoffs between consistency and scalability and common patterns for scaling reliable systems through data replication and redundancy.
