Assurant is seeking a Senior Data and Reporting Analyst to support the Finance Manager and FP&A team with analytics, dashboards, and automated reporting. You will translate business needs into technical solutions and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable data-driven decisions.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in financial data and reporting, strong SQL/Power BI/Excel skills, and the ability to communicate complex results to senior leadership.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in business analytics, data science, finance.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial data and reporting analysis.
  • Experience with financial reporting and communicating findings.
  • Excellent communication skills for non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and developing complex solutions.
  • Technical skills: SQL (MS SQL Server), Power BI, Excel; Alteryx a plus.
  • Experience in high-volume, complex data environments.
  • Strong writing skills to document solutions and insights.
  • Awareness of responsible AI usage to streamline workflows.

Responsabilidades

  • Create and maintain repeatable dashboards & reporting solutions for FP&A needs.
  • Translate business requirements into technical designs for tools.
  • Analyze budget, actuals, forecasts and provide insights to leadership.
  • Develop knowledge of applications, databases and data pipelines.
  • Interact with stakeholders to understand data structures and needs.
  • Assess data quality, accuracy, and consistency across systems.
  • Create and maintain queries for data extraction from sources.
  • Identify trends and patterns to support analysis.
  • Analyze source data behind reports to explain variances and anomalies.
  • Serve as technical expert for FP&A reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Create models for analysis and monthly/quarterly/ad-hoc reports.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous process improvement.

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Data and Reporting Analyst to support the Finance Manager as part of the Financial Planning & Analysis Team. The Senior Data and Reporting Analyst will play a critical role in the development and optimization of financial planning and analysis solutions used to deliver actionable insights for business growth. The candidate should exercise independence and good judgment when developing and formulating comprehensive responses to satisfy business requests, which may be complex in nature. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to develop technical solutions, automate reporting processes to enhance data‑driven decision‑making, and perform general data analytics. Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain repeatable dashboards & reporting solutions that fulfill FP&A operational needs.
  • Translate functional/business requirements into technical designs to develop solutions and tools.
  • Perform a detailed analysis of budget, actuals, forecasts and develop insights for work product delivery to senior leadership.
  • Develop a working knowledge of the company’s applications, databases, and data pipelines to support in‑depth problem solving.
  • Interact with technical stakeholders to obtain an understanding of application and data warehouse data structures to develop solutions.
  • Assess data quality, accuracy, and consistency across systems & reports in support of data selection.
  • Create and maintain queries and scripts for the extraction of analytical data from various sources.
  • Identify trends and patterns in data to support analysis.
  • Perform analysis of source data underlying reports in order to provide insight into variances and anomalies. Interact with technical stakeholders and data owners (e.g. Accounting, Account Management, etc.) as needed in order to obtain root cause.
  • Serve as technical expert to help inform the design of FP&A reporting & analytical solutions.
  • Create and maintain models for analysis purposes and preparation of business plans, reporting, research, and analysis for internal customers on a monthly, quarterly, and ad‑hoc basis.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for continuous process improvement.
Skills & Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business analytics, data science, finance, or related field. Master’s degree or relevant toolset/application certifications are a plus.
  • Total of 5+ years of experience in financial data and reporting analysis or related role (insurance industry experience is a plus).
  • Experience with financial reporting; ability to analyze results and communicate findings.
  • Excellent communication skills: must be able to communicate complex technical issues in a manner that is easily understandable to a non‑technical audience.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and the ability to develop complex solutions.
  • Technical Skills: extensive experience with SQL (preferably in Microsoft SQL Server), Power BI and Excel (experience with Alteryx is a plus).
  • Experience working in high volume, complex, data environments.
  • Excellent people skills to effectively work with other departments.
  • Strong writing skills in order to document solutions, procedures and insights.
  • The ideal candidate blends strong technical reporting skills with modern FP&A practices, including responsible use of AI to streamline workflows and generate clearer insights.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
