Bechtel Argentina seeks a Permits and Environmental Compliance lead to manage the obtaining, maintenance, and monitoring of environmental and sectoral permits. You will ensure that engineering design, construction planning, and field activities comply with the applicable regulations and client environmental standards.

The role translates legal requirements into verifiable design criteria, anticipates environmental restrictions, and maintains a critical permit route aligned with the project

Qualifications

• Requires university degree in Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Natural Resources, Geological or Biological Sciences and professional registration.
• Graduate degree in environmental management or environmental law is desirable.

Responsabilités

• Preparing and updating the permits matrix and deadlines.
• Prepare and submit Environmental Impact Report and biennial updates.
• Manage sectoral permits: water use, effluent, emissions, hazardous waste, soils, native vegetation, hazardous substances transport.
• Maintain dialogue with authorities and respond to observations and audits.
• Alert critical permits and propose sequencing alternatives to protect schedule.
• Define scope of environmental baselines and supervise consultants.
• Review deliverables for methodological sufficiency and data traceability.
• Evaluate environmental impacts and propose mitigation.
• Estimate hours and costs for environmental studies.
• Track environmental commitments and ensure design constraints are applied.
• Prepare progress reports on permits for client and project management.
• Support citizen participation and relations with communities.
