Job summary

Muttdata is seeking a Senior Data & AI Platform Engineer to build a governed data access layer on top of Databricks, connecting models, agents, APIs, and internal/external platforms. You will define secure data services, versioned contracts, and scalable patterns across multiple teams.

You’ll lead initiatives with strong autonomy, applying your experience in data platforms, Databricks, and AI tooling to advance our remote-first data products and ML solutions for enterprise clients.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data platform architecture or engineering
• Production experience with Databricks and Unity Catalog
• Experience designing APIs and services using OAuth2, OIDC, JWT
• Practical knowledge of generative AI: agents, LLMs and MCP
• Strong communication and stakeholder management across teams
• Degree in Engineering, Systems, IT, CS, or related fields
• Technical English skills

Responsibilities

• Design the data access architecture for applications, APIs, AI agents, and MCPs on top of Databricks
• Define secure, reusable patterns for exposing data and capabilities (Data Services, APIs, SQL, functions, MCP)
• Implement authentication and authorization preserving identity, context, and permissions
• Integrate access layers with Unity Catalog, policies, masking, and governance controls
• Design Data Products and Data Services with clear contracts and versioning
• Ensure traceability and auditability of users, services, agents, and resources queried
• Integrate Databricks with models, agents, APIs, and platforms
• Build reusable components that accelerate new AI initiatives
• Define Data-to-AI standards with Architecture, Security, and Governance teams
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate technical decisions into outcomes
