ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Business Analyst to assess existing reporting and define a future-state reporting strategy and governance model across a broad stakeholder community.
MUST HAVES
- Strong business analysis and requirements-management experience of at least 4 years.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct stakeholder interviews and facilitate requirements workshops.
- Experience assessing and rationalizing an existing reporting or analytics portfolio.
- Strong ability to translate complex business needs into structured business and functional requirements.
- Experience developing process maps, requirements documentation, reporting inventories, and roadmaps.
- Strong analytical skills with an ability to identify duplication, gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for simplification.
- Ability to operate across business, technology, data, and risk stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to drive requirements through ambiguity and competing stakeholder priorities.
- Upper-intermediate English level.
NICE TO HAVES
- Experience with management reporting, operational risk, technology risk, cybersecurity, vulnerability management, or other data-intensive operational environments.
- Experience with BI and other reporting platforms and familiarity with data governance concepts.
- Understanding of metric definitions, controls, data quality, lineage, and reporting governance.
- Experience establishing sustainable reporting operating models rather than solely delivering individual reports.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Develop a comprehensive inventory of existing reports, dashboards, metrics, and related reporting artifacts.
- Research historical reporting and prior requirements to understand the original business need, intended audience, and use cases.
- Assess existing reporting for relevance, duplication, usability, consistency, and continued business value.
- Identify reporting gaps as well as reports that may no longer serve a meaningful business purpose.
- Develop recommendations to retain, enhance, consolidate, replace, or decommission existing reporting.
- Identify the stakeholder groups and personas that consume, produce, or rely upon reporting.
- Conduct structured interviews and working sessions to understand business objectives, reporting needs, pain points, decision-making requirements, and desired outcomes.
- Translate stakeholder needs into well-defined business and functional requirements.
- Reconcile competing or overlapping requirements across stakeholder groups and establish a consolidated view of reporting demand.
- Maintain traceability between business needs, requirements, reports, metrics, and intended outcomes.
- Develop a target-state reporting portfolio based on stakeholder requirements and current-state findings.
- Define which reports should be created to address unmet business needs.
- Define which reports should be enhanced where existing reporting partially meets requirements.
- Define which reports should be consolidated where multiple reports address similar requirements.
- Define which reports should be retained where reporting remains effective and relevant.
- Define which reports should be decommissioned where reporting is obsolete, duplicative, or no longer creates sufficient value.
- Prioritize requirements based on business value, risk, stakeholder need, dependencies, and implementation considerations.
- Develop a roadmap that sequences reporting changes and enables an orderly transition from the current to future state.
- Establish clear ownership and accountability for reports, metrics, data sources, and business requirements.
- Define standards for requirements documentation, report definitions, business logic, data lineage and supporting metadata, where applicable.
- Establish a sustainable process for managing changes to reports and reporting requirements.
- Define periodic review cycles to reassess usage, relevance, accuracy, stakeholder needs, and opportunities for improvement.
- Establish criteria and governance for report retirement so that the reporting portfolio does not continually grow without rationalization.
- Maintain a reporting catalog that provides transparency into available reporting, ownership, purpose, audience, and status.
- Regularly engage stakeholders to determine whether reporting continues to support business and management decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting quality, usability, consistency, and efficiency.
- Monitor changing business requirements and translate them into appropriate enhancements to the reporting portfolio.
- Encourage movement away from redundant or manually intensive reporting toward standardized, sustainable solutions.
- Use stakeholder feedback and reporting usage information, where available, to inform periodic portfolio reviews.

Data Analyst with GA4 and GTM experience | Remote for Marketing Agency for Education
Our client is a fast-growing performance marketing agency specializing in mission-driven organizations across higher education and nonprofit sectors. Since launching in 2020, the agency has built a strong reputation for combining strategic thinking, creative execution, and data-driven marketing to help universities and organizations achieve measurable growth.
Your Role
The Web Analyst is a key member of the agency's Data and Analytics team, owning the web analytics and pixel deployment architecture that everything downstream depends on. You'll implement tracking via Google Tag Manager, troubleshoot setup issues across every paid ad platform the agency runs, and make sure data collection from client websites is airtight, from the first click through to CRM entry. Reporting to the Data and Analytics Manager, you're joining at a pivotal moment — the agency is scaling its roster of education and nonprofit partners, and this role is instrumental in evolving the tracking workflow that keeps every campaign measurable and every report trustworthy.
You’ll
- Own tag management & deployment — deploy, configure, and maintain pixels, tags, and scripts in Google Tag Manager (native templates and Custom HTML); build and maintain data layers with the Web Services team; manage GTM container structure, triggers, and variables across a multi-client environment; implement server-side tagging where it improves measurement accuracy and durability.
- Own conversion tracking & platform integration — connect website activity to paid ad platforms (Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Snapchat) using both browser pixels and Conversion APIs (CAPI); configure standard and custom events (leads, applications, inquiries) for accurate reporting and platform optimization; configure and maintain event tracking and key events in GA4 from ad click through form submission and CRM entry; partner with Paid Media and Web Services so every campaign and landing page launches with tracking implemented and verified.
- Own QA, debugging & data integrity — audit and debug broken tags, dropped events, and data discrepancies across client websites; troubleshoot mismatches between ad platforms, GA4, and CRM to root cause; run routine tag health audits across the portfolio; verify events in platform Events Managers and GA4 DebugView before any campaign goes live.
- Own data privacy compliance — manage cookie consent banners and consent mode configuration across client sites; keep tracking implementations aligned with GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy regulations; monitor platform and browser changes that affect tracking durability and recommend adjustments.
- Support documentation & cross-team enablement — maintain tagging plans, naming conventions, and QA checklists; translate business requirements from account and client teams into functional tracking solutions; document technical setups so internal teams can interpret and rely on the data.
You Bring
- 3+ years of hands‑on tracking or web analytics experience in a marketing or agency environment.
- Intermediate experience with GTM containers, trigger and variable creation, data layer implementation, and server‑side tagging.
- Practical experience planning, deploying, and troubleshooting conversion tracking across major ad platforms, with working knowledge of pixel and Conversion API (CAPI) configuration for Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
- Hands‑on GA4 experience, including event configuration, key events, and DebugView.
- Comfort with HTML, CSS selectors, and basic JavaScript for tag troubleshooting and custom script implementation, and skilled use of GTM Preview mode and browser developer tools (inspect element, network tab).
- Understanding of data privacy requirements (GDPR, CCPA) and consent management platforms, and of how tracking decisions affect Paid Media performance KPIs.
- An analytical, solution‑driven mindset with a growth orientation, and strong communication skills that turn technical tracking concepts into clear narratives for non‑technical audiences — education marketing experience (traditional or online) is especially valued.
Bonus Points
- Interest in using AI or LLM tools to streamline tag management audits, automate data layer validation, or troubleshoot complex tracking discrepancies across ad platforms.
- Familiarity using AI‑driven insights to assist server‑side tag configuration, optimize conversion modeling in privacy‑first environments, or generate technical documentation for tracking setups.
- An AI‑forward mindset — curiosity about emerging AI trends in marketing technology and a willingness to experiment with new tools that could improve tracking efficiency or data analysis.
What’s Offered
- Remote role with the flexibility that comes with a distributed, async‑friendly team.
- Competitive compensation based on experience and location.
- A pivotal, high‑visibility seat on a scaling Data & Analytics team, with real ownership over the tracking infrastructure every campaign and report depends on.
- The chance to build the measurement backbone for an agency whose partners are education and nonprofit organizations working to build a better world.
- A culture built around finding a better way, playing as a team of A‑players, and treating results as the engine rather than the goal.
- Direct impact: the tags and tracking decisions you make show up directly in whether partners can trust their own data.
Interview Process
- 1 Application Review (resume + a few questions).
- 2 Screening Call with Atomic HR.
- 3 Hiring Team Interview (walkthrough of a pipeline or data model you've built).
- 4 Technical Assessment (a real‑world data engineering case study).
- 5 Final Interview with company leadership.
