Job Responsibilities
About the Role

The Senior Benefits Analyst plays a critical role in optimizing employee health, welfare, and retirement programs across multiple regions. This position ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and drives process improvements to deliver a seamless and positive benefits experience. Acting as a subject matter expert, the Senior Benefits Analyst provides guidance to employees and internal stakeholders, supports strategic initiatives such as open enrollment and plan design changes, and leverages data analysis to enhance program effectiveness and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Benefits Program Administration: Administer health, welfare, and retirement plans, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, spending accounts, and voluntary benefits. Oversee absence management programs.
  • Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Assists the Benefits Manager with external vendor and internal teams (HRIS, payroll, HR partners). Resolve complex benefit issues and ensure accurate processing of transactions and deductions.
  • Process Improvement & Data Integrity: Identify and implement process enhancements. Audit and reconcile benefit data, resolve discrepancies, and maintain data integrity.
  • Employee Support & Communication: Provide guidance on eligibility, plan provisions, and compliance. Develop and deliver benefit communications, orientations, and open enrollment materials.
  • Project Management: Lead or support initiatives such as open enrollment, plan implementations, and system updates. Coordinate testing and manage project timelines.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Prepare reports for audits and filings, analyze trends, and provide recommendations for cost optimization and program improvements.
  • Compliance & Regulatory Oversight: Ensure adherence to laws and regulations (COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, IRS). Monitor changes, coordinate amendments, prepare filings, and distribute required notices.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay informed on industry trends and best practices
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of progressive benefits administration experience, including health, welfare, retirement plans, and absence management. Experience with vendor management and open enrollment processes.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and HR systems (e.g., Workday, Oracle, PeopleSoft). Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of benefits laws and regulations (COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, ACA) and IRS rules for retirement plans.
  • Core Competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to handle sensitive information, strong problem-solving and project management capabilities, and proven ability to streamline processes.
  • Preferred: Experience with multi-region benefits (Canada, Puerto Rico), payroll integration, and systems troubleshooting.
