ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Full Stack Tech Lead to guide a development squad, mentor junior engineers, and stay hands‑on building Java backend services and the supporting Angular frontend.

The mandatory requirements are experience as a Tech Lead or Squad Lead mentoring junior developers, 6+ years with Java (Spring Boot) and Angular, hands‑on Kafka, domain‑driven design with bounded contexts, RESTful API design, PostgreSQL or Oracle with JPA/Hibernate, and an upper‑intermediate English level.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Technical Leadership & Execution: Act as the Squad Lead, driving the team to execute on deliverables while maintaining high engineering standards.
• Core Development: Spend a significant portion of your time designing and implementing robust backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Frontend Integration: Build and maintain the supporting Angular frontend, ensuring a seamless connection between the UI and your backend logic.
• Modernizing Architecture: Lead the transition from traditional database‑centric designs toward a domain‑driven structure (DDD), ensuring strong domain bounded contexts.
• API Excellence: Architect RESTful APIs that prioritize proper HTTP verbs and clean, scalable patterns over legacy RPC styles.
• Team Mentorship & Agile Practices: Utilize a strong understanding of agile and software development practices to motivate the team, engage junior developers, mentor them, and help them grow.
• Strategic Pushback: Demonstrate the ability to confidently push back and say 'no' to power (be it AI or human) when advocating for best practices and architectural integrity.

MUST HAVES

• Leadership Experience: Proven experience as a Tech Lead or Squad Lead, with a track record of motivating teams and mentoring junior developers.
• Core Stack: Advanced proficiency in Java (Spring Boot) and a solid working knowledge of Angular, with at least 6 years of experience.
• Streaming & Messaging: Hands‑on experience with Kafka.
• Design Fundamentals: A strong grasp of Object‑Oriented Analysis and Design (OOA/OOD), software design patterns, and architectural pattern awareness.
• Domain‑Driven Design: Deep understanding and practical experience with strong domain bounded contexts.
• API Knowledge: Deep experience building and consuming RESTful services with a clear understanding of standard API protocols.
• Database Skills: Experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle) and JPA/Hibernate.
• The "Backend-Heavy" Mindset: A passion for server‑side logic, performance, and architecture, coupled with good engineering practices.
• Upper-intermediate English level.

NICE TO HAVES

• Highly desirable: Experience working with spec-driven development or related (AI-Driven Software Development Life Cycle).
• Domain Experience: Previous experience in the Loyalty or Fintech sectors.
• Cloud & Infra: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and containerization (Docker).
• DevOps: Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Refactoring: Experience refactoring legacy structures into modern, domain-driven architectures.

Requirements

6+ years of hands‑on engineering experience designing, implementing and supporting enterprise local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN). Hands‑on experience with Palo Alto, Cisco and Juniper network equipment and software. Strong experience deploying, configuring and troubleshooting firewalls, switches and wireless infrastructure in physical and virtual environments. Strong understanding of TCP/IP, IP addressing and subnetting, routing and switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP and NAT. Hands‑on experience with IPsec VPNs, including tunnel establishment, authentication phases, pre‑shared keys, routing and connectivity troubleshooting. Ability to diagnose network issues using packet captures, device logs and connectivity tools such as ping and traceroute. Experience implementing network segmentation, firewall rules and secure access controls, and assessing their impact on application connectivity. Ability to lead network incident resolution, isolate faults across infrastructure layers and document findings and preventive improvements. Self‑sufficient and service‑oriented, with the ability to manage priorities and deliver independently in a fast‑growing environment. Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain technical issues, provide timely updates and work effectively with stakeholders across teams and geographies. Experience coordinating with vendors and managed service providers to troubleshoot issues and drive resolution. A structured approach to projects, change execution, documentation and escalation. Experience supporting a 24x7 international organization spanning the US and EMEA, with flexibility for work that must be completed outside business hours. Experience working in a SOX‑regulated company.
