AppDirect seeks a Senior Backend Engineer to join our hybrid team in a role shaping scalable microservices. You will own features end-to-end from development to production, collaborating across a global platform used by millions of devices and users.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in backend engineering, strong Java/Spring Boot and Node.js/Next.js experience, and familiarity with microservices, CI/CD, and cloud-native practices. Fluency in English is required.

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience in production environments.
• Strong professional experience with Java/Spring Boot and Node.js/Next.js, as well as MongoDB and/or MySQL.
• Solid knowledge of microservices architecture, service development, testing, and integration patterns.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, container technologies, and automated testing practices.

• Collaborate in an agile team that embraces DevOps culture, taking ownership of solutions from development through to production operation.

The position offers a hybrid schedule: you will work once a week onsite and four days on remote.

Compensation package includes:

What We’re Looking For

• +5 years of backend software engineering experience in production environments.
• Strong professional experience with Java/Spring Boot and Node.js/Next.js, as well as MongoDB and/or MySQL.
• Solid knowledge of microservices architecture, service development, testing, and integration patterns.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, container technologies, and automated testing practices.
• Demonstrated experience owning software systems over time, including operating, maintaining, troubbleshooting, modernizing, and continuously improving existing applications in long-lived production environments.
• Ability to work effectively in a senior capacity, including collaborating with, mentoring, or providing technical guidance to less experienced engineers.
• Track record of using AI development tools to accelerate delivery without compromising code quality, security, or maintainability.
• Fluency in English.
