As a Senior Analyst in our Infrastructure team, you will take ownership of a diverse portfolio of credits while contributing to S&P Global’s reputation as the leading provider of infrastructure ratings globally.

Responsibilities
- Ownership of a portfolio of credits
- Arranging review meetings for all entities assigned in line with our surveillance standards
- Understanding financial statements and preparing detailed forecasts
- Summarizing findings and conclusions (including rating implications) at management meetings and discussing with management
- Independently preparing and presenting analysis and recommendations to credit committees
- Actively participating in committees
- Undertaking research in support of S&P Global Ratings published commentaries
- Communicating with market players for rating rationale and criteria application
- Actively managing relationships with issuers, intermediaries, and investors
- Understanding and implementing S&P’s policies and procedures
- Demonstrating accountability for work quality and meeting deadlines consistently
- Taking initiative in identifying process improvements and contributing innovative solutions
- Building effective working relationships across teams and with external stakeholders
- All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week
What We’re Looking For
Basic Required Qualifications
- An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 3+ years of relevant experience within a large commercial bank, investment bank, investing institution/asset manager, rating agency, or an audit company working in the field of financial analysis
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related subject
- Understanding of the power, utilities or infrastructure asset classes
- Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of financial statement analysis and accounting concepts
- Proficiency with calculations and the ability to maintain accuracy and be detail oriented while complying with strict and tight deadlines
- Ability to multi‑task and manage deadlines under time pressure
- Experience in managing, interpreting, and synthesizing data for analytical purposes
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Team player with excellent time management skills
- Fluent in English. Advanced Portuguese is a plus
- Excel skills (including formulas, VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data, filters)
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of accuracy
- Strong problem‑solving capabilities and attention to detail
- We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in‑person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or master’s degree in finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Mathematics and/or CFA
- Strong proficiency with Excel & VBA, financial models and financial data
- Strong PowerPoint and database application skills
- Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. C++, MATLAB, Python, R or VBA)
- Experience in mentoring junior team members or leading small project teams
- Track record of contributing to process improvements or efficiency initiatives
