Job summary

QBE Insurance Group is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst in a hybrid, permanent role based in Latin America. You will contribute to pricing, profitability analysis and portfolio management for Property & Casualty reinsurance across Latin America, collaborating with underwriters, catastrophe modellers and actuarial colleagues.

You will apply advanced actuarial techniques to large datasets, develop dashboards, and present insights to stakeholders to drive profitable growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or related quantitative field.
• 3–5 years actuarial experience in P&C insurance or reinsurance.
• Experience pricing treaty reinsurance business.
• Fluent English communication and collaboration across international teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform actuarial pricing analyses for proportional and non-proportional reinsurance treaties.
• Develop loss cost estimates using various actuarial pricing techniques.
• Analyse exposure data, historical claims, and portfolio performance for underwriting decisions.
• Assess treaty structures (Excess of Loss, Stop Loss, Quota Share, Surplus, Aggregates).
• Support pricing recommendations and underwriting submissions.
• Monitor portfolio profitability and KPIs.
• Conduct rate adequacy reviews and loss ratio analyses.
• Analyse trends in frequency, severity, catastrophe exposure, and emerging risks.
• Build/enhance actuarial models, pricing tools and reporting solutions.
• Work with large datasets to identify trends and insights.
• Develop dashboards and BI reporting for decision-making.
• Collaborate with underwriting, claims, finance, and portfolio management teams.
• Present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives and continuous improvement.
