Scientific Communication Manager - Job Description

Scientific Communication Manager (SCM) is the leader of the Project Team. SCM’s responsibilities include communication with clients, medical stakeholders’ management as a scientific expert for HCPs, Public Health representatives, medical societies, academia, and other relevant organizations. In addition, SCM is responsible for establishing a highly reliable, long‑term relationship with KOLs and clients, promoting and leading various non‑promotional medical events (e.g., steering committee, medical summit, consensus paper, advisory boards, continuous medical education, round‑table meetings, workshops, etc.) and maintaining peer‑to‑peer communication with all external medical stakeholders and internally with the rest of the Project Team. These scientific exchanges will support and/or expand current therapeutic concepts and ensure the safe and productive advancement of the Clients product(s).

Scientific Communication Manager - Qualification
  • Excellent scientific background.
  • An advanced degree required/expected (PhD, MD or PharmD).
  • High‑agile, skilled, and motivated professional capable of working in a fast‑paced, multi‑disciplinary and multi‑cultural team.
  • Demonstrated project management ability and solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking.
  • Accountability.
  • Ability to achieve measurable results in a defined timeline.
  • Strong communication (oral and written) and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build/establish scientific collaboration with Clients, HCPs, Key Opinion Leaders, and Professional Medical Societies.
  • Capability to deliver quality medical information and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful completion of the project.
  • Ability to travel in the US, up to 15% with overnight stays (e.g., KOL meetings, site locations, internal meetings, medical meetings and congresses).
  • Business acumen is highly appreciated.
Scientific Communication Manager - Job Responsibility
  • Monitor assigned projects and manage own workload, taking ownership and anticipating capacity issues/bottlenecks and potential solutions.
  • Attend and coordinate medical events providing guidance, education and training.
  • Identify, map, develop and maintain long‑term collaborative relationships with KOLs, Professional Societies and Patient Groups at the regional and international levels.
  • Serve as the scientific bridge and first point of contact between KOLs and clients.
  • Provide the KOLs and clients staff relevant, compliant, and consistent medical and scientific support in all communications.
  • Maintain clinical, scientific, and technical expertise in the relevant therapeutic area.
  • Identify business opportunities for medical education and scientific exchange with clients and KOLs.
  • Participate in medical and scientific meetings/congresses with the medical/scientific community.
  • Interact with HCPs to understand their views, preferences, and interests in the assigned therapeutic area, share insights with the client and align with their medical strategy.
  • Contribute to developing and validating scientific documents, slide decks, and data quality control for international medical events.
  • Strong knowledge and usage ability for Microsoft Office.
