Job summary

Lago is seeking a Sr. Software Developer for E-Commerce Systems to enhance a Django/React-based storefront and data pipelines. You will fix vendor feeds, refine pricing logic, build APIs, and improve data quality while replacing manual workflows with reliable software.

We value thorough problem solving, test-first development, and clear communication. Remote work from LATAM, Eastern Europe, or the Philippines is supported, with flexible coordination across time zones.

Qualifications

• Strong Python programming skills and experience building production software.
• Solid SQL and PostgreSQL knowledge, including the ability to investigate query performance.
• Experience building and consuming APIs. Django Ninja, Pydantic or OpenAPI.
• Experience processing real-world data from CSV or Excel files, external feeds, scraping, or ETL pipelines.
• Sufficient React and TypeScript experience to contribute to frontend work when required.
• Strong testing practices, including assertions against specific business outcomes rather than response status alone.
• Good engineering judgment when choosing between scripts, application features, process improvements, and AI-based automation.
• Clear written communication for pull requests, technical documentation, tickets, and collaboration.
• Ability to investigate unfamiliar systems, work independently, and deliver maintainable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Product data: vendor imports, in-house PIM, catalog data quality.
• Inventory and pricing: feed ingestion, vendor scrapers, pricing logic.
• The storefront API: build and test API endpoints for the new Django/React storefront.
• Search: Elastic search-backed search, facets and recommendations.
• Internal tools and automation: replace repetitive work with scripts or admin screens, or LLM-based workflow where appropriate.
• Infrastructure: moving AWS and Cloudflare resources to OpenTofu.
