Job summary

Tether is seeking an Automation QA Engineer to own desktop/mobile test automation and manual testing across the SDLC. You will build and maintain automated tests, run them in CI/CD, investigate failures, and ensure robust QA practices across global projects.

You will collaborate with developers and product teams, apply AI tools in QA, and work in a fast-paced fintech environment. Remote work from anywhere with international scope is available.

• Identify and escalate quality risks in products and processes.
• Collaborate with product teams to ensure quality throughout SDLC.
• Collaborate with customer-facing teams to incorporate user feedback into testing strategy.
• Participate in refinement and estimation to support planning.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Build regression automation scripts that support app functionality.

• Record detailed documentation of feature behavior.
• Record pass/fails conditions of tests and correlate failures to bug identification.
• Identify and elevate any risk to quality of the product or the process.
• Collaborate with the product team to ensure quality throughout the SDLC and product release cycles.
• Collaborate with customer-facing teams to incorporate user feedback in the testing strategy.
• Participate in refinement and estimations of effort to promote accurate planning.
• Utilize GitHub to maintain automation repositories, run custom scripts, and facilitate automated quality practices.
• Participate in On-Call rotation.

About the job

We’re looking for an Automation QA Engineer with strong automation skills who also takes ownership of manual testing for our desktop and mobile applications.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain desktop and mobile test automation for critical user flows.

Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines and keep them fast and reliable.

Investigate failures, fix flaky tests, and manage test data and environments

Report clear, reproducible bugs and verify fixes

Work with developers and product on testability and acceptance criteria

Perform hands‑on functional, exploratory, and regression testing of new features

Choose manual or automated coverage based on risk; maintain regression suites.

Mandatory:

4+ years in QA automation, plus hands‑on manual and exploratory testing experience.

Experience running tests in CI/CD pipelines (for example, GitHub Actions).

Hands‑on experience with Playwright for desktop or web, and WebdriverIO + Appium for mobile.

Experience testing Electron and/or React Native apps, including on real iOS and Android devices.

Experience using AI tools in QA and critically reviewing their output. Testing AI‑powered applications is a plus.
