Backblaze is hiring a Software Engineer to join the Organization Services team, building and improving core backend services and APIs in Kotlin/Java. You’ll work on organization lifecycle management, identity foundations, and RBAC, with potential frontend work in React/TypeScript.

Formación

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience building production systems.
• Experience with Java or Kotlin in a production environment.
• Experience building APIs or service interfaces with attention to compatibility and rollout strategies.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, service-to-service communication, retries, latency, and observability.
• Experience with relational databases, schemas, queries, and migrations.
• Experience writing automated tests and participating in code reviews.
• Familiarity with containerized development or deployment environments.
• Understanding of backend security fundamentals: authentication, authorization, input validation, least privilege.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-team collaboration.

Responsabilidades

• Build, test, and maintain backend services and APIs in Kotlin and Java, focusing on correctness and reliability.
• Contribute to core platform capabilities including resource models, lifecycle workflows, and access control features.
• Implement API updates, migrations, tests, deployments, and observability improvements across the delivery lifecycle.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to design solutions for moderately complex backend problems.
• Work with Product, Security, QA, Support to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and post-incident follow-ups.
• Improve developer velocity and system quality through automation and AI-assisted tooling.
• Support cross-functional teams across authentication, storage, billing, and shared systems.
