AgileEngine is seeking a Software QA Automation Engineer to build regression automation scripts and manually validate software against defined criteria. You will execute diverse testing types and document feature behavior, contributing to quality across the SDLC.

Candidate should have 3+ years in QA and automated testing, strong communication, and experience with Gherkin, prompt engineering, and agentic quality approaches. Flexible schedule with remote/office options.

Responsibilities

• Build regression automation scripts that support app functionality.
• Manually test software for validation and accuracy based on defined criteria.
• Execute smoke, regression, integration, performance and other testing types.
• Record detailed documentation of feature behavior.
• Record pass/fails conditions of tests and correlate to bugs.
• Collaborate with product team to ensure quality throughout SDLC.
• Collaborate with customer-facing teams to incorporate user feedback in testing strategy.
• Participate in refinement and estimations of effort for planning.
• Use GitHub to maintain automation repositories and run scripts.
• Participate in On-Call rotation.

ABOUT THE ROLE

MUST HAVES

• 3+ years of experience in a software quality assurance role.
• 3+ years of experience in automated testing.

• Experience with testing support functionalities such as GitHub Actions, LambdaTest, SendGrid, Datadog, PagerDuty.
• Proficiency in SQL.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails and backend development.
• Understanding of quality management systems and quality control processes.
• Background in data-based testing and/or security-based testing.
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other relevant experience.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Build regression automation scripts that support app functionality.
• Manually test software for validation and accuracy based on defined set of criteria.
• Execute smoke, regression, integration, performance and other testing types to ensure proper behavior of software.
• Record detailed documentation of feature behavior.
• Record pass/fails conditions of tests and correlate failures to bug identification.
• Identify and elevate any risk to quality of the product or the process.
• Collaborate with the product team to ensure quality throughout the SDLC and product release cycles.
• Collaborate with customer-facing teams to incorporate user feedback in the testing strategy.
• Participate in refinement and estimations of effort to promote accurate planning.
• Utilize GitHub to maintain automation repositories, run custom scripts, and facilitate automated quality practices.
• Participate in On-Call rotation.
