Job summary

Meitner Energy is seeking a security engineer to own the security posture of a regulated AI platform supporting export-controlled nuclear technology. You will implement access controls, DLP, audit logging, and vulnerability management, while coordinating with external monitors and legal/compliance teams.

The role emphasizes governance, evidence-building, and working closely with the Director of Global IT to align platform security with company policies. Dallas on-site required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information security, engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years in security engineering, security operations, or governance.
• Hands-on experience with SSO, MFA, RBAC/ABAC, privileged access management, and secrets management in production.
• Knowledge of federal information-protection control frameworks and producing audit-ready evidence.
• Experience with SIEM or managed detection tooling and external monitoring relationships.
• Understanding export-control frameworks and handling regulated information.
• Ability to write security documentation and work on-site in Dallas.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain SSO, MFA, RBAC/ABAC, and document-level access controls across the platform.
• Operate data-loss prevention, immutable audit logging, and secrets management; manage vulnerability triage and remediation.
• Run prompt-injection testing and develop incident response playbooks for AI systems.
