About the Team

Dialpad’s AI Engineering team works centrally alongside Data Science, Telephony, and Product Engineering to build AI that works. Engineers on this team leverage distributed systems engineering, devops, MLOps, and data engineering to deliver and scale Dialpad’s AI products.

Role Overview

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead, grow, and nurture the engineering team that owns real‑time transcription inference, ML inference, and LLM scalability. You will direct the team’s efforts including career coaching, resource allocation, planning, and technical contributions. The position reports to the Chief AI Officer and is based in Buenos Aires with remote options.

What You’ll Do

• Lead a team ranging from junior‑level to highly experienced engineers, supporting performance and career growth through coaching and mentoring.
• Participate in evaluating architecture choices to anticipate increased scale and evolving technology.
• Align engineering‑wide priorities with geographically distributed peer managers and technical leads.
• Own large projects end‑to‑end, including requirements gathering, planning, and resource allocation.
• Define, prioritize, and facilitate technical design and execution of infrastructure development discussions.
• Build new tools and services to simplify feature development at Dialpad.
• Drive effective engineering processes and policies.

Skills & Qualifications

• 2+ years leading a high‑performing engineering team, managing cross‑functional or multi‑team projects.
• 5‑8+ years of technical engineering experience building distributed systems.
• Experience with Python, GitHub/VCS, CI/CD, Kubernetes, Docker, DevOps, and GCP/Cloud.
• Experience partnering closely with Data Science teams.
