Lead Machine Learning Engineer, Recommendation Systems

WHAT YOU´LL DO

• Lead the ML team, including performance reviews, career development, and setting individual goals.
• Define the long‑term strategic roadmap for evolving ML solutions in alignment with business needs.
• Plan and coordinate the execution of key initiatives, ensuring efficient delivery and providing visibility to stakeholders.
• Design, code, and deploy highly scalable features (mostly in Python) from a massive machine‑learning system that powers our economic module.
• Evaluate different statistical models, taking into consideration the trade‑off between model improvements vs scalability.
• Join a team of data scientists, data engineers, and software engineers to design, prototype and build scalable distributed systems that will enhance the machine‑learning platform.
• Work in a self‑sufficient, autonomous manner, striving through ambiguity.

REQUIREMENTS

• 1+ years of experience in a leadership role.
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience building software in Python (C++ is a plus).
• Excellent engineering and strong CS fundamentals. Hands‑on programmer, not a data analyst.
• Experience working with ML technologies and building model training pipelines.
• Be comfortable writing well‑structured, production‑ready code with quick quality results.
• Experience with cloud solutions (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.).
• Good SQL and database knowledge (Trino SQL is a plus).
• Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others.
• A sense of urgency and ownership over the product.
