Job summary

ROGII Inc. seeks a Geosteering Geologist to supervise well geosteering, analyze real-time LWD/MWD data, and provide technical support throughout planning, execution, and post-drilling activities.

The role requires on-site work in Buenos Aires with 24/7 rotational shifts including nights and weekends. You will coordinate with project specialists, prepare daily reports, and deliver technical presentations to clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Petroleum Engineering, Geophysics, or related Geoscience discipline.
• Experience in wellsite operations, geosteering, or operations geology.
• Proficiency with data analysis tools and programming languages (Python, R, Power BI, SQL).

Responsibilities

• 24/7 Well Monitoring and Geosteering supervision.
• Real-time data interpretation to support drilling decisions.
• Technical support in planning, execution and post-drilling activities.
• Coordination and communication with project specialists and teams.
• Data and reporting management using Rogii applications.
• User and client support via phone, email, or other channels.
• Technical presentations to clients, in person or virtually.
• Other related duties as needed.

About the Role - GEOSTEERING GEOLOGIST

• 24/7WellMonitoringandGeosteering: Supervise,organize,anddirectwellgeosteeringincontinuousoperationstoensurepreciseplacementwithinthegeologicaltarget—whetheron-site,atRogii'soffices,atclientoffices,orremotely.
• Real-TimeDataInterpretation: Analyzeandinterpretreal-timeLWDAndMWDdatatosupportimmediateoperationaldecisionsduringdrilling.
• TechnicalSupportinPlanningandExecution: Providetechnicalsupportinanalyzingtheplanning,execution,andpost-drillingactivitiesofgeosteeringprojects,proposingadjustmentsandimprovementsasappropriate.
• CoordinationandCommunication: Maintaincontinuousandeffectivecommunicationwithprojectspecialistsandtheteamleadduringoperations,adheringtothechainofcommandandinternalprotocols.
• DataandReportingManagement: Prepareandmaintainthedailywellreportingsystemandensurethecollection,organization,andavailabilityofdatausingallRogiiapplications(DataManager,SoloCloud,etc.).
• UserandClientSupport: Providetechnicalassistancetousersviaphone,email,oranychannelrequiredbytheclient,includingavailabilityforoff-hourscalls(nightsandweekends)whenprojectneedsdictate.
• TechnicalPresentations: Prepareanddelivertechnicalreportsandpresentationstoclients,bothin-personandvirtually,explainingresults,recommendations,andscopeofwork.
• OtherRelatedDuties: Performadditionaltaskslinkedtotheaboveresponsibilitiesbasedoninternalprojectneedsorclientrequirements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’sdegreeinGeology,PetroleumEngineering,Geophysics,orarelatedGeosciencediscipline.
• Experienceinwellsiteoperations,geosteering,oroperationsgeology
• Strongunderstandingofdirectionaldrilling,structuralgeology,stratigraphy,andloginterpretation(LWD/MWD).
• Experience with industry-standard geology/petrophysics software
• Handson experience using data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, Power BI, SQL) to clean, manipulate, and visualize geological and subsurface datasets, automate workflows, or develop custom analytical scripts.
• Willingness and capability to work in 24/7 rotational operational shifts (including night shifts, weekends, and holidays).
• Abilitytoworkin-office(Rogiiorclientpremises).
• StrongverbalandwrittencommunicationskillsinEnglishandSpanishtoeffectivelycollaboratewithdirectionaldrillers,companymen,andofficeteamswhilefollowingestablishedchainsofcommand.
• Abilitytomakefast,accurate,andcriticaltechnicaldecisionsunderhigh-pressuredrillingenvironments.
• MustbebasedandresidinginBuenosAires,Argentina.
