Job summary

Athenaworks is seeking a Mid-Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join a fast-moving startup. You will design, develop, and own backend services and RESTful APIs, collaborate on feature design, and implement across the full stack with a strong emphasis on quality and scalability.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years of experience with Java or Python, React/TypeScript, and AWS. You will work in a remote-friendly environment with flexible schedules and opportunities to apply AI tools throughout the development

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional full-stack development experience.
• Backend development with Java or Python.
• Frontend with React and TypeScript.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Experience with AWS services (SQS, SNS, Lambda, CloudWatch, API Gateway, DynamoDB).
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs.
• Collaborate to design features based on requirements.
• Own features from conception to deployment including DB schema, logic, API, and frontend changes.
• Implement unit/integration/functional tests across the stack.
• Participate in code reviews for frontend and backend.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and resolve issues across the stack.
• Troubleshoot user-reported issues across the system.
• Leverage AI tools to boost development efficiency, testing, and CI/CD optimization.
