Job description

Gain is an innovator in the legal finance and revenue cycle management markets, financing healthcare and living expenses for people injured in accidents by funding, servicing, and recovering receivables tied to personal injury claims.

Our mission is to make sure that every person injured through no fault of their own gets access to the quality medical care they deserve and can navigate the economic uncertainty caused by the injury.

Founded in 2011 in Atlanta as Cherokee Funding and consolidated under the Gain brand in 2023, Gain has built connective infrastructure for a personal injury market that historically lacked a unified platform. We advance capital against medical receivables for healthcare providers, connect law firms to a network of healthcare practices, and give injured families access to care with no upfront cost.

Gain is a privately held, founder-led, technology-driven organization operating in a complex and rapidly growing financial services environment.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical and hands-on FP&A Analyst to strengthen Gain's financial planning, forecasting, modeling, and strategic decision‑making capabilities.

This role will be responsible for developing and maintaining sophisticated financial models, leading budgeting and forecasting processes, analyzing company performance, and providing actionable financial insights to senior leadership.

A critical requirement for this position is demonstrated experience building and maintaining fully integrated three‑statement financial models incorporating the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement, including forward‑looking projections and scenario analysis.

The ideal candidate will have developed strong financial modeling and analytical skills through experience in FP&A, M&A, investment banking, corporate finance, transaction advisory, or a similarly rigorous financial environment.

Benefits: Salary paid in USD, quarterly performance bonus.

  • Build, maintain, and continuously improve integrated three‑statement financial models, including the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement.
  • Develop detailed financial projections incorporating revenue, operating expenses, working capital, financing activity, capital deployment, and cash flow.
  • Ensure financial statements and projections are fully integrated and dynamically linked.
  • Build scenario and sensitivity analyses to evaluate different operating, financing, investment, and growth assumptions.
  • Develop short- and long‑term financial forecasts to support strategic planning and capital allocation decisions.
  • Analyze historical financial performance and use trends and business drivers to develop forward‑looking projections.
  • Stress‑test financial assumptions and identify potential risks, liquidity requirements, and opportunities.

  • Partner with department leaders to develop operating budgets, headcount plans, and expense forecasts.
  • Maintain rolling forecasts and update projections based on actual performance and changing business conditions.
  • Develop driver‑based forecasting methodologies that connect operational activity with financial outcomes.
  • Evaluate forecast accuracy and continuously improve assumptions and methodologies.
  • Support long‑range financial planning and strategic growth initiatives.
Financial Performance & Variance Analysis
  • Analyze actual results against budget, forecast, and prior periods.
  • Identify and explain key financial and operational variances.
  • Develop monthly and quarterly management reporting packages for senior leadership.
  • Analyze profitability, margins, operating expenses, cash generation, and other key financial metrics.
  • Identify emerging trends, risks, and opportunities and communicate their potential financial impact.
  • Develop KPIs and financial dashboards that provide leadership with clear visibility into business performance.

  • Develop financial analyses and business cases for new initiatives, investments, products, partnerships, and growth opportunities.
  • Evaluate the financial impact and expected returns of strategic initiatives.
  • Perform scenario analysis around pricing, growth, funding, operating costs, and capital allocation.
