Modus Digital is seeking a Technical Lead to guide a global engineering team in designing, building, and maintaining scalable digital products including mobile apps, intranets, and APIs.

You will mentor engineers, drive architecture and code quality, and collaborate with Product and Design to deliver user-centered experiences in a hybrid Buenos Aires office environment.

Formación

• 6–10+ years in software design and development with full‑stack expertise.
• Proven technical leadership or senior engineering experience.
• Strong frontend/backend tech proficiency: React, Node.js, .NET or Java.
• Hybrid Buenos Aires presence, 2x/month in office.

Our Technical Lead is an integral part of our Engineering team, working across a wide range of clients and projects. An Engineering Technical Lead at Modus typically reports to a Director, Engineering and above.

Responsibilities

Technical Leadership, Direction & Mentorship

• Lead the architecture, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of scalable digital products
• Drive technical direction, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business goals
• Integrate large language models and retrieval augmented generation systems into functional applications.
• Lead code reviews and uphold high standards for code quality, performance, and security
• Mentor and support engineers through coaching, pairing, and constructive feedback

Hands-on Execution

• Contribute hands‑on to the codebase while guiding architectural decisions and best practices
• Review wireframes/design mockups and prototypes and ensure their feasibility

Collaboration & Alignment

• Collaborate closely with Product and Design to deliver high-quality, user-centered experiences
• Attend and engage in daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospective meetings.
• Communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams, including project managers and clients, translating complex technical concepts into clear insights
• Provide regular updates on progress, risks, and technical decisions to stakeholders
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement through iteration, experimentation, and innovation

Other duties related to the position that may arise from time to time and as may be assigned

Qualifications

• 6–10+ years of experience in software design and development with a strong full‑stack background
• Proven experience in a technical leadership or senior engineering role
• Strong proficiency in modern frontend and backend technologies (e.g., React, Node.js, .NET, Java or similar)
• Solid understanding of system architecture, APIs, and scalable application design
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases
• Hands‑on experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and explain complex ideas to technical and non‑technical stakeholders
• Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to team growth
• Experience with AI and agentic systems and technology is a strong plus
• You’re located in Buenos Aires and are willing to work from our office at least 2 times a month (hybrid schedule)
