We are looking for a Junior DevOps Engineer to design, develop, and implement infrastructure‑as‑code and delivery‑as‑code across multiple applications and cloud platforms.
The Work You'll Do
As a Junior DevOps Engineer at Sovos, you will play a key role in establishing and improving frameworks for Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery/Deployment, Infrastructure as Code, and Configuration Management products and services.
More Specifically, You Will
- Design, build, deploy, and maintain enterprise cloud solutions and Kubernetes platforms using CI/CD pipelines to enable the fast and safe delivery of critical business software to production.
- Apply infrastructure‑as‑code methodologies across configuration, infrastructure, and orchestration stacks using scripting languages and automation toolkits.
- Implement and maintain automated web service infrastructure, Kubernetes, and deployment processes.
- Build automation tools and components to enhance the installation and provisioning of cloud‑based applications in AWS, Azure, or similar cloud environments.
- Identify processes and capabilities that can be streamlined and automated.
- Define and implement processes to maintain software product configurations and infrastructure environments.
- Maintain applications and tools used throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Create documentation following industry standards for process definition and training purposes.
- Work within agile teams to develop software solutions and promote best practices within Configuration Management.
- Leverage AI‑powered tools and automation to improve delivery pipelines, accelerate troubleshooting, and drive operational efficiency.
What We Need From You
- Background in or strong interest in a DevOps or release engineering role.
- Developing skills in or exposure to scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Shell, or similar.
- Familiarity with build processes for one or more languages (C, Java, .Net, etc.).
- Familiarity with private repositories such as GitHub.
- Knowledge of DevOps engineering and Configuration Management best practices.
- Ability to work cross‑functionally across multiple teams.
- Passion for identifying and solving performance and scalability challenges.
- Strong organisational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check upon hire.
