Job summary

Monks is seeking a Senior Video Editor to work remotely for North American universities. You will edit and optimize video content for ads, brand storytelling, and digital campaigns, collaborating with designers, copywriters, and strategists to ensure high-quality content across YouTube, social media, and paid media campaigns.

You will lead color correction, sound design, and motion graphics, while ensuring platform-appropriate formats and pacing.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional video editing experience in an agency or marketing setting.
• Advanced knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro; strong After Effects/DaVinci Resolve basics.
• Experience editing ads, brand videos, or corporate communications.
• Excellent storytelling, pacing, and visual impact.
• Fluent English; able to collaborate with US-based teams.

Responsibilities

• Edit and assemble video content for ads, social media, YouTube, and campaigns with strong storytelling and brand consistency.
• Enhance video quality through color correction, sound design, and smooth transitions.
• Integrate motion graphics and simple animations to improve engagement.

• Manage video files and organize assets , ensuring structured workflows and version control.
• Review edits and refine content based on internal and client feedback before final delivery.
• Stay updated on new editing techniques and platform trends to continuously improve video effectiveness.
• Ensure timely delivery of final assets , accounting for internal and client review steps.

Is This You?

• 3+ years of experience in professional video editing, preferably in an agency, media production, or marketing team setting.
• Advanced skills in Adobe Premiere Pro , plus working knowledge of After Effects, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
• Experience editing content for ads, marketing, or corporate communications.
• Strong storytelling ability , with a clear understanding of pacing, audience engagement, and visual impact.
• Familiarity with motion graphics (text animations, lower thirds, transitions).
• Technical knowledge of color grading, sound design, and video formatting for social media, web, and broadcast.
• Highly organized -able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Fluent English communication skills , with the ability to work with U.S.-based teams.
• Experience optimizing video content for multiple platforms (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, TV).

Nice to Have:

• Experience working with education, technology, corporate, or mission-driven brands.
• Understanding of social media engagement strategies for video.
• Comfort presenting work and discussing revisions with clients.
