Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a Cloud Security Analyst (AI Training) to apply hands-on cloud security expertise to AI systems. You will assess risks, misconfigurations, and incident reasoning across AWS, GCP, and Azure while contributing to datasets and evaluations that improve AI understanding of cloud security.

The role is remote, hourly, and offers flexible hours (10–40 hours/week). You will work with a team partnering with leading AI labs to strengthen frontier AI systems.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on cloud security experience in production environments.
• Strong knowledge of IAM, networking, storage, and container security across major clouds.
• Familiarity with real-world misconfigurations and security incidents.
• Ability to articulate blast radius, risk exposure, and business impact.

Responsibilities

• Analyze cloud security scenarios across AWS, GCP, and Azure to identify risks and misconfigurations.
• Review IAM policies, network configurations, storage permissions, and container setups.
• Classify security gaps based on impact and blast radius.
• Validate and improve AI-generated security reasoning for cloud incidents.
• Help build datasets/evaluations to train AI on cloud security.

What You'll Do

• Analyze cloud security scenarios across AWS, GCP, and Azure to identify risks, misconfigurations, and failure patterns
• Review and evaluate IAM policies, network configurations, storage permissions, and container security setups
• Classify security gaps and vulnerabilities based on real‑world impact and blast radius
• Validate and improve AI-generated security reasoning to ensure it reflects how cloud incidents actually unfold
• Help build datasets and evaluations that make AI smarter about cloud infrastructure security

Who You Are

• 2+ years of hands‑on experience working with cloud environments in production
• Solid understanding of cloud IAM, networking, storage, and container security across one or more major cloud platforms
• Familiar with real‑world misconfigurations, security incidents, and how they escape
• Able to clearly articulate blast radius, risk exposure, and business impact
• Self‑directed and comfortable working asynchronously on task‑based assignments

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud security tooling (e.g., AWS Security Hub, GCP Security Command Center, Azure Defender)
• Background in cloud penetration testing, incident response, or security engineering
• Familiarity with frameworks like CIS Benchmarks, MITRE ATT&CK for Cloud, or CSA CCM
• Certifications such as AWS Security Specialty, CCSP, or equivalent
