Job summary

Google Cloud Consulting Professional Services is seeking an Application Modernization Cloud Engineer to help customers in Mexico City and beyond transform enterprise apps using Gemini Enterprise, Generative AI, and AI Agents.

You will assess platforms, design next-generation architectures, and migrate applications to Google Kubernetes Engine and other cloud-native services while guiding AI agent integration and scalable deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Experience coding in Python, Java, Go, C or C++.
• Experience in APIs and integration in distributed environments using REST, SOAP, GraphQL, JSON, OpenAPI, JavaScript, Cassandra, Kubernetes, etc.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform and cloud security principles, Linux administration, Git, Terraform, Ansible, etc.
• Ability to communicate in Spanish and English fluently for client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Serve as trusted technical advisor to customers on cloud architecture and Gemini Enterprise implementations.
• Architect and execute end-to-end modernization and application assessment strategies powered by AI tools and generative workflows.
• Design, prototype, and build autonomous AI Agents and generative workflows embedded into client application ecosystems.
• Recommend approaches, architectures, and estimated effort for cloud migrations, API integrations, and AI Agent deployments.
• Maintain software engineering standards by writing high-quality, modular code and building robust automated tests and AI agent orchestration patterns.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience coding in one or more general purpose languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, C or C++).
• Experience in architecting and implementing APIs and integration technologies in distributed enterprise environment(s) using a combination of technologies/languages/standards like REST, SOAP, GraphQL, JSON, OpenAPI, JavaScript, Cassandra, Kubernetes, etc.
• Experience with cloud hosting (e.g., Google Cloud Platform), architectural principles in security, distributed computing, and platform/developer/systems operations such as Linux Administration, Git, Terraform, Ansible, etc.
• Ability to communicate in Spanish and English fluently to support client relationship management in this region.

Preferred qualifications:

• Software development in one or more of the following languages: Golang, C/C++, Node.js, Java, Python, etc. including data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Experience refactoring monolithic applications to microservices, APIs, or serverless models.
• Experience with DevOps practices, including infrastructure as code, continuous integration, and automated deployment.
• Experience with unit or automated testing tools.
• Experience in implementing API Security and Threat Modeling using SAML Assertion, OAuth 2.0, etc.
• Ability to facilitate development and communication of solutions to technical and business stakeholders, with effective listening, collaboration, consensus formation, critical thinking, and problem solving skills.
