Job summary

Canals is hiring for a backend-focused role where most work is on the backend and generalists are welcomed. We use Node and TypeScript, with Python for ML, and run on Postgres, Elastic Search, Docker, AWS, Sveltekit and Tailwind.

You’ll join a fast-moving, equity-enabled startup with a culture of urgency and autonomy. Interview stages include a Silver screening, technical challenges, take-home task, and client live/technical/behavior interviews, all designed to assess both skill and fit.

About the Role

We have a ton to do and need help to do it. Most of our work is on the backend, and we prefer generalists. We work in node, but we don't care if you don't have lots of node experience. Learning a new technology is not an issue for strong engineers.

The interview process will include DSA-style live coding challenges.
