Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking an Associate, Software Engineering to contribute to a software-defined networking platform. You will work across agile teams to design, implement, and test core components, with emphasis on Go, Python, or C/C++ coding, and applying distributed systems concepts.

The role favors candidates with strong math background, experience in AI-assisted tooling, and a track record of technical writing and documentation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, networking, or distributed systems.
• Strong foundation in mathematics for distributed systems and networking.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, C/C++, or Rust.
• Experience using AI/ML-assisted tooling for code generation or prototyping.
• Strong technical writing skills and ability to document complex concepts.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design and implementation of core platform components (control plane, data plane, software gateways, load balancers, IPAM).
• Write production-quality code in Go, Python, or C/C++ for networking infrastructure.
• Apply distributed algorithms to networking and systems problems.
• Use AI-assisted tooling to accelerate development and experimentation.
• Conduct research into networking technologies and communicate findings via documentation.
• Produce technical docs, design proposals, and research summaries.
• Participate in code reviews and agile ceremonies; collaborate with vendors.
• Engage with open-source communities as appropriate.
