Prometeo Talent is partnering with a fast-growing US‑based cybersecurity startup to hire a Senior Backend Engineer who thrives in startup environments and builds scalable systems with Java and Python.

You will own features end-to-end, design and optimize distributed services, collaborate with a highly technical team, and leverage AI‑assisted development tools to boost productivity while preserving quality. 100% remote from LATAM with a focus on impact and ownership.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering or backend development.
• 5+ years of professional experience with Python, building and maintaining production‑grade backend systems.
• Strong experience with Java.
• Hands‑on experience with AI/LLM‑based application development (AI agents, agentic systems, or LLM‑powered applications)
• Experience building AI‑driven features, LLM integrations, or agentic workflows in production environments is highly preferred.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, scalable architectures, and asynchronous processing.
• Experience working with databases, message queues, and data processing pipelines.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
• Proven experience building, maintaining, optimizing, and improving products after launch.
• Strong ownership mindset, autonomy, and ability to thrive in startup or fast‑paced environments.
• Advanced English level.
