Job summary

Blacksmith Agency is seeking an AI Automation Engineer to own and ship our internal automation roadmap. This builder role focuses on production systems built on top of large language models, not model training.

You will work with engineering and delivery leadership to convert a documented roadmap into shipped automation workflows, using LangChain/LangGraph and integrations with OpenAI/Anthropic, across our design and development production processes.

Qualifications

• 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar agent frameworks.
• Proven API integration work with OpenAI or Anthropic (function calling, tool use, streaming).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and basic cloud deployment.
• English sufficient for async written work with a US-based team.

Responsibilities

• Build agentic workflows using LangChain, LangGraph or equivalent frameworks.
• Integrate with OpenAI and Anthropic APIs including function calling and tool usage.
• Develop internal automation tools to reduce manual work across design and development processes.
• Create automation pipelines connecting WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and internal CMS.
• MCP server integrations as part of the AI stack.

About The Role

Blacksmith Agency is building an AI automation layer into every part of how we work. As AI Automation Engineer at Blacksmith, you own and ship our internal automation roadmap. This is a builder role, not a research role. You will not be training models, you will be building production systems on top of them. You work directly with engineering and delivery leadership to take a documented roadmap of automation workflows and turn them into shipped, working systems. This role is for someone who has already built things with LLMs and can show it.
