The Boys and Girls Clubs of San Leandro is seeking a Youth Development Professional – Elementary to create a safe, engaging after‑school program for middle school youth at Garfield Elementary. You’ll facilitate activities, mentor participants, and support academic and social‑emotional growth.

This part‑time, on‑site role runs Monday–Friday 1:00–6:00 PM (PT) and follows the school‑year calendar; summer work may be available.

Formación

• No prior experience required; entry‑level role.
• Must be at least 18 years old to be eligible.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
• High emotional intelligence and integrity.
• Ability to connect authentically with a diverse group of youth.
• Ability to independently supervise a group of youth.
• Patience and the ability to work under pressure in emotionally charged situations.

Responsabilidades

• Engaging supervision of youth in a safe, welcoming after‑school environment.
• Facilitate engaging activities that promote learning and social development.
• Adapt and implement curriculum‑based lessons for elementary‑aged students.
• Create a positive learning environment with clear routines and expectations.
• Build positive relationships and mentor youth with inclusive practices.
• Manage daily operations including transitions, meals, and lessons.
• Collaborate with teammates to improve activities and meet program goals.
• Be flexible and assist at different sites as needed.
