Howard is seeking a Remote Staff Accountant / Tax Professional to join our U.S.-based client team. The role will support U.S. individual and business tax returns, prepare financial statements, and perform reconciliations on a fully remote basis aligned with U.S. Eastern Time.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of accounting experience, solid U.S. GAAP knowledge, and strong English communication. This opportunity offers fully remote work and long-term growth within a U.S.-based firm.

• Support preparation of U.S. individual and business tax returns
• Perform account reconciliations and analyze financial information
• Support month-end and year-end close processes

Key Responsibilities

• Manage monthly accounting deliverables and deadlines
• Review and ensure accuracy of accounting work
• Participate in monthly and annual closings
• Prepare and analyze the General Ledger, Profit & Loss (P&L), and Balance Sheets
• Support Accounts Payable (A/P), Accounts Receivable (A/R), payroll, and bank reconciliations
• Collaborate with internal teams (HR, Finance, CFO, etc.)
• Respond to client accounting inquiries promptly and professionally
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual tax processes

What We’re Looking For

• Experience managing multiple tasks or clients simultaneously
• Solid knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP or other frameworks)
• Strong Excel and digital tool skills
• Advanced / bilingual English for client communication
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to interact with clients and teams at different levels
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience
