Job Purpose

To supervise and coordinate workshop operations with a specific focus on classic and vintage cars refurbishment. The role ensures efficient execution of mechanical, electrical, and aesthetic restoration works while maintaining the highest standards of quality, authenticity, and customer satisfaction.

Functional Roles and Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the classic car refurbishment section, including repair, restoration, and certification activities.
  • Ensure workshop procedures are followed precisely, particularly for vintage vehicles where authenticity and accuracy are critical.
  • Assist in developing and monitoring on a monthly basis the schedule of work, associated budget for the areas of responsibility, monitor performance against this, initiating corrective action where necessary to ensure workshop operations are conducted within the agreed financial parameters.
  • Maintain proper electronic documentation of each restoration project, including historical data, repair records, and photographic evidence.
  • Liaise with OEM Classic & heritage departments.
  • Keep abreast of international best practices in classic car restorations.
  • Establish and continuously review with Workshop Manager the workshop’s structure, work flows and job responsibilities in the workshop to ensure work is organized and carried out in the most efficient and effective manner. Ensure smooth supply of parts to the technician and, if not available, recommend to parts dept. for cannibalization depending on the urgency.
  • Support service staff to ensure maintenance of tools is done on a timely basis to keep costs of business to a minimum without compromising safety.
  • Supervise the work of mechanics to ensure that set workshop processes are followed so that work flow, quality standards, profit, and customer satisfaction index are maintained.
  • Supervise / Submit product quality feedback to Technical Support Specialist for sending reports to principals.
  • Advise Team Leaders/Technicians periodically about ways and means to improve technician productivity and implementation of manufacturer’s warranty policy.
  • Ensure all workshop equipment like car washer, lifts, etc. are in proper working condition and periodic maintenance is carried out.
  • Maintain repeat job register and give timely feedback to Team Leaders, on the trend. Analyse the register and take corrective measures.
  • Propose and implement yearly leave plan for the workshop staffs. Organise replacement wherever required.
  • Recommend changes in standard labor time and recovery charges to higher authorities as and when required.
People Management Roles and Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of technicians with specialized skills in classic vehicle mechanics, ensuring their work is aligned with heritage quality expectations.
  • Monitor technician performance, productivity, and job quality; conduct coaching where necessary.
  • Implement skill development plans to continuously improve team knowledge on classic models, tools, and methods.
