Job summary

Al Tayer Motors is seeking a Workshop Supervisor to support the Service Manager in planning and delivering workshop activities that meet revenue, profit and customer satisfaction targets. You will help organize workflow, ensure parts availability and supervise technicians to maintain quality and efficiency.

The role requires a mechanical/technical engineering background, leadership experience in workshops, and proficiency in Autoline, Power BI and Excel to monitor performance and costs.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree or diploma in Mechanical/Technical engineering plus management qualification.
• Minimum 4 years of experience as a Workshop Manager.
• Proficiency in Autoline, Power BI and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong technical expertise in workshop operations, warranty processes and customer handling.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and monitoring monthly work schedules and budgets for the workshop.
• Review workshop structure, workflows and job responsibilities to optimise efficiency.
• Ensure tool maintenance is performed timely to control costs and safety.
• Supervise technicians to adhere to workshop processes, quality standards and profitability targets.
• Provide feedback to Technical Support for product quality reports to principals.
• Advise team leaders/technicians on productivity improvements and warranty policy implementation.
• Ensure workshop equipment (lifts, car wash) is in good working condition and maintained.
• Maintain repeat job registers and provide trend feedback to leadership for corrective action.
• Plan yearly workshop leave and arrange replacements as needed.
• Suggest changes to standard labour time and recovery charges when required.
• Motivate subordinates to improve performance and develop for higher roles.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and monitoring on a monthly basis the schedule of work, associated budget for the areas of responsibility, monitor performance against this, initiating corrective action where necessary to ensure workshop operations are conducted within the agreed financial parameters.
• Establish and continuously review with Service Manager the workshop's structure, work flows and job responsibilities in the workshop to ensure work is organized and carried out in the most efficient and effective manner. Ensure smooth supply of parts to the technician and incase not available recommend to parts dept. for an alternative source of supply.
• Support service staff to ensure maintenance of tools is done on a timely basis to ensure costs of business is kept to minimum without compromising on the safety aspect
• Supervise the work of Technicians to ensure that the set workshop processes are followed so that the work flow, quality standards, profit and customer satisfaction index is maintained.
• Supervise/ Submit product quality feedback to Technical Support Specialist for sending reports to principals.
• Advise Team Leaders/ Technicians periodically about ways and means to improve technician productivity and implementation of manufacturer's warranty policy.
• Ensure all workshop equipments like car wash, lifts etc. are in proper working condition and periodic maintenance is carried out in these equipments.
• Maintain repeat job register and give timely feedback to Team Leaders, on the trend. Analyze the register and take corrective measures.
• Propose and implement yearly leave plan for the workshop staffs. Organize replacement wherever required.
• Recommend changes in standard labor time and recovery charges to higher authorities as and when required.
• Guide and motivate subordinates to enhance performance and produce quality work, and ensure that they are continuously developed for higher level roles
• Ensure special tools availability and audit is conducted periodically.
