Job summary

GHD is seeking a Wet Utilities Inspector for a project located at Madinat Zayed, Abu Dhabi. You will work as part of an integrated multidisciplinary team across infrastructure, buildings, transport and other project types.

The role involves assisting the RE/PM and Mechanical Engineer, reviewing submittals, and ensuring on-site quality control and compliance with standards. Required are a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field and a minimum of 5 years in wet utilities, with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (a diploma is also acceptable).
• 5+ years of experience in wet utilities.
• Experience in large-scale road construction and city development projects, particularly involving sewerage and stormwater systems.
• Strong understanding of deep excavation, dewatering and utility interface works.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist RE/PM and/or Mechanical Engineer on site duties.
• Review and approve contractor submittals with quality control.
• Inspect construction work to ensure compliance with codes and specs.
• Interface with public and mitigate construction impacts.
• Coordinate with utility authorities for connections when required.
• Oversee mechanical work and ensure contractual quality.
• Monitor contractor activities within the discipline.
