Job summary

Weatherford is seeking a Repair & Maintenance Technician – Well Services to maintain, repair, inspect, refurbish, and test Well Services equipment at the Abu Dhabi workshop facility. The role emphasizes equipment reliability, operational readiness, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Candidates should have hands-on mechanical skills, experience with oilfield downhole tools, and the ability to perform troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, redress, and functional testing per OEM

Qualifications

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical trade certification.
• 2–3 years oilfield tool workshop Repair & Maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of Well Services equipment and oilfield maintenance practices.

Responsibilities

• Maintain 5S standards within the workshop bay, tool crib, and work cells.
• Perform repair, maintenance, inspection, and redress on Well Services equipment per procedures, OEM manuals, drawings, and work instructions.
• Execute standard work practices following redress sequences and approved tooling arrangements.
• Verify latest revision of procedures, drawings, manuals exist and are followed before work.
• Support continuous improvement to reduce redress cycle time, rework, scrap and repair costs.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment to identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Conduct dimensional and thread inspections using calibrated measuring tools.
• Perform assembly/disassembly with correct torque procedures and tools.
• Ensure proper handling of seals, elastomers, lubricants, grease, and thread compounds.
• Carry out pressure and functional testing with accurate documentation and traceability.
• Complete job cards, inspection reports, and maintenance records on time.
• HSE focus in all workshop activities; maintain compliance.
• Support field operations to meet required timelines.
• Work within a multicultural technical team upholding Weatherford standards.
