Job summary

Black Pearl Consult seeks an experienced Water Network Planning Engineer to ensure efficient, reliable and sustainable water service delivery through planning, simulations, and long-term infrastructure management.

You will develop and optimize distribution networks, lead master plans, and conduct hydraulic simulations for multiple networks, leveraging EPANET/WaterGEMS/InfoWorks and AMI/SCADA data. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in water network planning, asset management or hydraulic modeling.
• Strong knowledge of water distribution systems, hydraulic principles and infrastructure design.
• Proficiency in network simulation tools and exposure to AMI/SCADA in water systems.
• Excellent communication, data analysis and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize the water distribution network to meet current and future demand.
• Lead the preparation of master plans feasibility studies and hydraulic simulations for new and existing networks.
• Conduct network modeling using tools such as EPANET WaterGEMS or InfoWorks to assess and enhance system performance.
• Support the implementation of asset management strategies to improve network reliability and longevity.
• Utilize AMI and network operations data for performance optimization and proactive planning.
• Collaborate with internal teams on rehabilitation plans project coordination and long-term capacity forecasting.

Requirements

To be considered for this role you need to meet the following criteria:

• Bachelors degree in Civil Environmental or Mechanical Engineering (Masters degree preferred).
• 48 years of experience in water network planning asset management or hydraulic modeling.
• Strong technical knowledge of water distribution systems hydraulic principles and infrastructure design.
• Proficiency in network simulation tools and exposure to AMI/SCADA applications in water systems.
• Excellent communication data analysis and problem-solving skills.
